"ST-45! You're going the wrong way! Stop immediately!"
About this creation
Awhile back, I built a minifig-scale LEGO Starspeeder 1000 in honor of the opening of Star Tours 2 at Disneyland and Walt Disey World. Since then, I have kept the model intact (though dusty), and have even had the pleasure of displaying it at conventions.
The only major flaw in the design that still bothers me to this date, was the fact that there was no interior. The detail of the exterior took up too much room to allow for an equally-detailed cabin/cockpit for the passengers and pilot.
The other night, I took a good look at my original creation, and realized it was about time I made some sort of interior MOC, even if it wasn't actually inside the ship. So, after some planning and building, I present a rough design of how the interior cockpit would have looked, had I originally included it back in 2011.
The iPOD used as the screen was an idea I had years ago for a creation like this, and has since been used in creations by other talented builders. The footage is direct from Disney's Star Tours 1 and 2 attractions!
This is awesome! I have been on Star Tours and had a really great time, so seeing this just brings back those memories. Great job, and I like how you did the screen.
