The mining outpost is a small structure with a mining laser, and an observation deck. The lower half of the tower has the controls for the laser, and the upper floor is designed like an air traffic control tower; relaying communications from space ships to nearby bases. It also has a very detailed, but short range, scanning array. The mining outpost does not have a force field to hold in an oxygen atmosphere, so operators are switched out on a 5-hour shift. When an outpost had mined all the minerals it could it was often rebuilt into something more useful.
About this creation
Group shot with 493 Command Center. I really like this one :)
LL-2079. Who knew?
If you're wondering, yes, the truck can attack to any standard trailer.
All 97 pieces.
Plus one baseplate.
Lunar. Covered. Wagon. Top that.
You can't really see the red disk from any other angle. I don't know why I felt the need to take this shot...
Another scanner... relay... outpost... thingy.
I really like this rover-bot. Either end can be the front.
I know I departed slightly from the theme by using the white computer, and really blew it with the dark grey computer, but I felt that they (the printings) were absolutely perfect for the model. Hopefully I didn't offend too many of you ;)
