The VSL-03 Versailles R(evised) is a D.A.R.T. mobile suit that is another meant to replace the Versailles II as a mass-produced unit, after the deemed success of the Versailles II Ultra Custom based on an evaluation of its overall combat performance. The Versailles R uses the basic frame of the GPM-II Versailles II and features a switchable backpack instead of the Fixed Flight System used on the Ultra Custom.

The Versailles R features a new operating system for ease of operation and control. The operating system features a limiter that comes into operation to lower the performance of the Versailles R so that the mobile suit can be handled without difficulty by rookie pilots; however, more experienced pilots can deactivate the operating system to execute more complex maneuvers with the ReZEL.

The VSL-03 Versailles R Commander A-Unit (Alternatively, the Type-A) is an terrestrial assault variant deployed mainly by squad commanders. Aside from featuring a different color scheme than the standard production Versailles II, the Type-A removes the maximum thrust limiter operating system featured in standard Versailles R units and uses the reinforced Endo-Steel/Titanium frame for improved performance over the standard Versailles units. This variant also sports the extra armour plating on it's shoulder.

On the other hand, the VSL-03 Versailles R Defenser B-Unit (Type-B) functions both under gravity (be it on Earth or in the Space Colonies) and in space, thanks to the Defenser Thruster Module. This also eliminates the need for the shoulder thrusters.

Side note(s)

First of all, I want to give credit to Mithryl Altair's GN-0000 + GNR-010 00 Raiser for his absolutely amazing skill and design, in this case, I used a slightly modified version of the GNR-010 0 Raiser's wing binders for the Defenser B-Unit's thrusters.

Moving on, I based this design off the RGZ-95C ReZEL Type-C (GR) from the Gundam Unicorn OVA, great stuff right there. Also, I've worked a little with some of the unmentioned features from the Versailles II, mainly the shoulder, backpack and hip areas. This time, I'm telling you all what I haven't used: a socket on the back of the shoulders to mount additional weapons/equipment on, so check it out, and if you want, make your own variation of this model!

So, I was looking over this again, and I have to ask: If the VSL-02 Ultra Custom was such a success, why was the "spewing rainbow" weapon not installed on the VSL-03R? Anyways, check out my recent post on the Elite Mechanier forum since I need your input.

Quoting TF Twitch So I looked at the LDD file, and I can really see where there is room for additional mods. Once again, great work with this. And are you still alive out there? *poke poke* Please do not bite me...
Aye I'm still very much alive, though I've been swamped up to my neck in school work that I barely have time to mess around on the internet! Anyway, I'm glad you took a look at the LDD file, and I'm more than happy to let you modify the model in any way you wish!

Very nice! And I agree that a new gun, more missiles, and space flight is definitely much more gooder-er. The wing thruster design is well done and I do see the similarities between this and Mithryl's work (he is so AWESOME!). I will have to look at the LDD file in more detail later to se all of the goodiness!
