About this creation
Okay, so this is the box. Nothing amazing but quite a nice display.
Inside you get 5 big bags and 1 instruction booklet, as well as a sticker sheet.
This is what you end up with once it's fully built. It's a great scene in the film and I think LEGO has managed to re-create it fairly well. As you can see, you also get one of the new orange brick seperators!
These are the spare pieces you are left over with at the end.
Here's Anakin's ship. It's a basic build and to be honest is a bit boring. But it does the job.
The cockpit opens and it has flick-fire missiles.
Here is the landing platform and the underside of Anakin's ship. (See what I mean about the ship being basic?) As you can see, the circle on the ship's underside fits nicely into the holder on the platform to keep it in place.
This is the entranceway to Palpatine's office from the platform. The doors are a ncie design and as seen here, slide open and shut.
Here is Palpatine's desk and two guest chairs, both of which spin around. However the desk itself does nothing and even Palpatine's chair is fixed down, doing nothing at all.
One of the good play features here is the falling window, simulating when it smashes in the film. Pull on the little lever and the window falls back, however it doesn't become detached, instead it just hangs there. There is a little platform on the front of it as well, presumably for standing Mace on to simulate him being thrown from the window, even though in the film this happens at a totally different time to the window smashing. Oh well.
One of the little 'jump' planks. Not sure what they're for but they're fun for flicking the figures around all over the place! There's one on each side.
To the left of Palpatine's chair is a secret floor compartment in which you can store his force lightning.
And to the right of the chair is another compartment hiding his golden lightsaber.
The landing platform and door section is totally detachable and there are holes all around the base of the main section so that you can attach the doorway wherever you want which I think is a nice idea.
As shown here. I also like the little golden statues and those circular... things. Haha. The floor is nicely done too, a good shape.
And now the best part... the figures! It comes with 6 BRILLIANT figures! mace Windu, Anakin Skywalker, Supreme Chacellor Palpatine, Seasee Tinn, Kit Fisto and Agen Kolar.
This is Anakin. He has a great new double-sided face, brilliant darker coloured hair and fantastic body and leg printing.
This is Anakin's back showing his back printing and his reversible head.
Here is Palpatine. A great torso and double sided head.
Palpatine's back showing his 'other' face, Darth Sidious. Unfortunately he doesn't have a 'normal' face so he has to be angry all of the time. But I suppose that fits this scene, really.
Mace Windu is very nice. Being bald however, he only has one face and he also has no back printing for some unknown reason, but never mind.
Saesee Tinn, different to the Clone Wars version which is nice. A great face and headpiece also the body is very nice.
Agen Kolar is another ncie figure. A great torso piece and a nice face and headpiece too.
Again, he has back printing.
And of course, the fantastic, Kit Fisto! I finally have a Kit figure! I've wanted him for years! haha! A great figure. Unfortunately he has no back printing. Sorry about the blurry photo, I've only just noticed.
And I couldn't make this reveiw without making a scene from the film using the set! Haha! So here it is with Saesee, Kit and Agen all dead, with Anakin watching on as a handless Mace is blasted by Palpatine's force lightning.
All together now!... "POOOOWWWWWEEERRR!!!!!!"
I wonder if Jeremy Clarkson has seen that bit? Haha!
Build:7/10 Figures:10/10 Pieces:8/10 Playability Factor:9/10 Value For Money:8/10 Overall:8.4/10
Well, this is a great set overall. The best part is the figures. All 6 are brilliant. It comes with lots of good pieces however it seems somewhere lackign in substance. I looks very exposed. I would have liked it to look a little bit more like a room. A bit of a wall maybe? Also, Anakin's ship is very basic, I feel that that could have been done better. it seems almost liek a last-minute add on. For £59.99, I think that it's a little bit overpriced, but not much. I would have though more like £49.99 but oh well. So my adive is, if you like Star Wars, get it. It's a brilliant set. If you can find it in a sale, then it's even better.
