About this creation
Shraga: "We're in formation with the Athenian Fleet, Sir. And the Heavy Raider is on the port flight deck ready for launch."
Nempec: "Very well."

Nempec: "Okay, Mav, looks like it's time for your excursion with our new friends. Must be pretty important if they dragged us all the way here to see it...Whatever 'it' is..."

Mav: "Should be a nice day for a hike! But we'll be watching our backs, that's for sure."
Nempec: "Good hunting!"

Pilot: "Galactica, Heavy Raptor 369, entering upper atmosphere now..."

Mav: "The Athenians are sending over the landing coordinates."

Bones: "Frak that's a lot of snow! Good thing I wore my long johns!"

Athenian: "The facility is several kilometers from this location."

Athenian: "The terrain shouldn't be too challenging, but conditions are not ideal. We should plan to reach the entrance before nightfall."

Mav: "Sounds like a plan. I'd rather not spend the night out in this mess."

Bonsch: "Looks like we're stuck carrying the payload. What's in here, anyway?"

Simon: "Not heavy enough to be beer...Oh well..."

Mav: "Okay, looks like we're ready to head out...Lead the way!"

Corthay: "Reminds me of the Alps. Should have brought my skis!"

Mav: "I would have preferred a day at the beach..."

Athenian: "The weather is not favorable for us, either, Commander. Fortunately we are approaching the last leg of the climb."

Bones: "Good! I was just getting ready to ask :'Are we there yet?'"

Simon (under his breath): "At least he doesn't have to lug this fraking container."

Giardello: "I think I see something over the next rise."

Athenian: "That should be the entrance."

Red: "They're coming, Sir, slowly but surely..."

Mav: "So, Cody, what do you think of this rig?"

Giardello: "I don't know, Sir, looks kind of ominous..."

Mav: "I say we wait for our friends. Who knows, the thing might be booby trapped or something..."

Athenian: "A wise decision, Commander..."

Athenain: "Fortunately we can override the system."

Mav: "I figured as much. Otherwise we would have had to have Bonsch hotwire the thing again."

Athenian: "The algorithm is working through the command codes..."

Mav: "Annnnnnnd open sesame!"

Bones: "After you, Sir!

Mav: "Thanks, Bones..."

Bones: "No problem!"

Corthay: "All clear, Sir. I'll cover the entrance."

Mav: "I hope somebody's got a flashlight..."

No one beats those outdoor shots! I wish I wasn't lazy, 'cause I'd sure love to try some outdoor pics myself :P
It's easy enough, but the big trick is to get down on the ground, snow, mud or sand. Thanks, Dude! |

Even more fantastic work than usual. I love the shots of them descending towards the planet; they looks incredibly realistic. As usual, your builds are amazing but what really steals the show is your snow... the way you have it subtly accumulate on the ships and even the people is genius. Great job!
Probably more to do with how fast it was snowing, and how cold I was getting! Thanks for the great comment! |

Another enjoyable episode, though I think that Mav and the boys could use some nice wolly bobble hats! I like how you've stuck to the sci-fi TV convention that spaceships must never land next to the place where they are going to on a mysterious planet and that their crews must ALWAYS trek across a hostile environment to reach their destination. My money is on the guy in red getting killed first... :)
It wouldn't be any fun without a hike in the woods. And yes, poor Red, he's already had two nasty scrapes: One on Kobol, another on the Athenian station. So who knows what'll happen next! Thanks for watching, Dude! |

Great episode! I like the use of real snow.
It was fun going outside with the crew. I set a couple of baseplates out first for the ships, to let the snow cover them. Each fig and robot had white 1 stud-6 high bricks as anchors to keep them from sinking and tipping. Thanks for watching! |

Another good episode. I particularly like the way the entrance mirrors the design themes in the basestar interiors and the regeneration ship - was this intentional?
How did you do the lighting on the view down the dark stairs??
Keep them coming!
Good eye! When I finished it, I looked at it and thought, hmm, looks like a resurrection ship. As far as the stairs go, I just boxed in the base with black. The top is all technic beams, so the light goes through no problem. Next episode you'll be able to see more of the floor and hallway. Thanks for the comment! |
