Finished! MELO Round 2: Grant Davis vs. Nathan Oh
Orthanc Backet HUGE THANKS TO THE JUDGES!
About this creation
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Category: Balin's Tomb

Gandalf, being his usual optimistic self, reads: "We cannot get out. They are coming." The Fellowship finds themselves in a fix once again! Trapped miles below the surface in a burial chamber of stone, they fight desperately for their lives (a line you've probably never heard before in the whole of your life). The goblins are thirsty for blood and remember: "They have a cave-troll!" Show us what you can do!

What the Tomb Looked Like at the Time of the Barial

What the Tomb Looks like now...
(Sorry for the fact that there is no battle, I thought about making a Troll, But I couldn't quite do the scene justice, I decided to not do it)

These Where the pictures that I used for the contest. I have Updated to the above content after the judging period to Show what I would have built if not restricted by the Time period

Well, This is Officially the most rushed MOC I have ever made. I just competed in a 3 Day speech and debate tournament, Which ended earlier today. I wish I had time to put Figs in and Get better lighting, But I don't. EDIT: Considering that the judging for this Moc is done, I will make an update for it including, the Fellowship, Goblins, (I don't have a cave troll yet) to it will look much better!

Good Luck Nathan!

This is some excellent work (especially considering it was rushed)! The SNOTed cheese slopes around the tombstone are very nice and the curved masonry bricks over the doorway is a genius touch. Brilliant!

Quoting Justin L. Nice MOC! The floor is definitely my favorite part. Just wondering, was said debate tournament the ICC (Inland Club Challenge) in Cali?

Congrats on receiving a majority vote and best of luck to you in round 3!

I can't see much, but the tomb and the chamber architecture is very nice! I wish you would have added more details like some minifigs, bones, broken pillars old weapons etc, though. On a second thought the chamber design is very unique, which makes your build slightly better than your opponent's. You get my vote!

Some very good techniques, although it does look rushed. I do wish that you had included some figures, as it looks a bit boring without them. Your opponent gets my vote.

An excellent build, but it would/will look a lot better with minifigs, corpses, etc. I love the masonwork flooring and the tomb itself is great.

Thanks for judging! I will be spending an hour or 2 today to get better photo's and add minifigures, I do see why you would give the Vote to Nathan, Thanks for your time!

Quoting Max Pointner While your scene was more detailed and textured (very well at that!), I couldn't see much!
GAH! I forgot to add the overall picture... Sad Day. as you may have read this was done really rushed. I did all the picture in about 10 minutes, Including uploading!

While your scene was more detailed and textured (very well at that!), I couldn't see much! I wish that you had added more pictures. You did end up receiving my vote though as your build was a unique rendition of Balin's tomb and Nathan's was the usual approach. Good luck with the other judges!

Quoting Nathan Oh Hey Grant, as a fellow builder and contestant, I need to tell you that you need those links in your entry for R2 before 11:59 mocpage time or it will not go well with the judges for you. I'd like to see more pics as well. Hope I don't sound to harsh but, I'd hate to see your fine build go to waste because of missing links. Best of luck and once again, great build!
I'm Not actually Sure weather or not I got them in on time... as the MOCpages time is never specified in a time zone. If I didn't really sorry for being late! Debate tournaments that end the same day as the deadline sorta push Lego's down on the priority list :P
