Another Flickr goody - the Gun Sniper!

The Gun Sniper is a Velociraptor-type Zoid built by the Helic Republic. The Zoid's primary weapon is a 144mm Sniper Rifle built into the Zoid's tail. Although it requires the Gun Sniper to be immobilised in order to fire, the powerful weapon is capable of disabling far larger Zoids with a single shot. Secondary weapons include a respectable selection of both ranged weapons and close-combat claws and fangs, making the Gun Sniper very well armed for its diminutive size.

This design is not 100% mine, it is based upon (and uses limb designs) by Kantorock on DeviantArt. His LDD Gun Sniper is an amazing model, it took me 2 days to decipher the LDD build, but I finally transferred his amazing design over into real bricks (I only had to modify a couple of designs). This build uses no microscale techniques like my other Zoids, this is entirely made from normal bricks.

The base of this build is made from Patrol.

I was thinking maybe finding a way to use robot hands as the guns. That would reduce the thickness of the arm, and then maybe binoculars with fangs in them or minifig hands for the claws? It might not be as sturdy, but it could work.

There was a mini transformation sequence when it turns around, straightens out the tail, opens it's gas vents in the tail sections, and the driver's seat would flip around and place them on their belly while the Gun Sniper's tail gun trigger extended to the driver. GO and check it out on youtube, you'll be satisfied to watch it.

I've been trying to hunt down parts to build the Wild Weasel unit, but I haven't gotten the miniguns I'd need to make the conversion kit. That was my original plan with this build. I remember the scene you are talking about, I friggin' loved that show.

It is so cute! Great job on this. Question: Since the Sniper Rifle is located in the tail, does that mean it has to turn around and show its rear end at its target? If so, AWESOME!
