Hero Factory Brain Attack Review #6: Pyrox
Better watch out, 'cause Pyrox is after you! He is set #44001, and he has 50 pieces. So let's get started!
About this creation
Let us glimpse on all the MOCcity goodness inside this placky bag of WOWZAness:

For bones, we have one regular torso piece,
six regular upper limb pieces,
three short lower limb pieces,
two black "Ben-10" feet,
one black hand
and one trans medium green skull.

Armour includes one dark red standard torso piece,
one gunmetal grey bosom plate,
one black "Savage Planet" paw,
five sise 3 armour pieces in black,
one trans orange sise 5 armour piece with a magma print,
two dark red rocky armour pieces
and Pyrox's mask.

Extra parts include:
four trans orange "Savage Planet" Claw pieces,
two black "Ben-10" tail peices,
two flame pieces,
a yellow Brain Parasite,
some technic pieces
and two other pieces;

The first piece is a sword hilt Technic piece which we've seen before in Furno XL, and the other is a 90 degree axel connector piece with a pin hole running through the pivot. Both are incredibly useful for MOCmaking.

Onto the set itself!

Right, this is a pretty nice set, looking like close competition for Ogrum as my favorite set.

I like the colour scheme. The bringing back of the colours used in Bionicle is a nice touch, and the fact that it's mingled with black is pretty cool. However, there are little hints of bright red on this set, which I don't think looks entirely nice in my opinion. But the big problem is the bosom plate. In a black and dark red character, gunmetal grey does not mix well. Luckily, Pyrox's chin blocks most of it.

The head is also very nice. I like the Bionicle-esk features in it, specifically the Piraka. The tail of the parasite is also very similar to the Skakdi spine. The only thing that I don't like is that you can see the trans medium green through the mouth, which breaks the colour scheme a little bit. It would have been much better if the skull was trans orange instead of trans medium green. It would create a fire-tounge effect which would look pretty nice.

One of the complaints about Pyrox is that people think that his head has no similarity to a minotaur, which is what he is based on. In a way, I agree with this, but when looking at him from the side, with the tail plugged into his back, I can see some Bull-like features, especially with the mane effect of the brain parasite, and the flat face and sticky out chin. I feel that this is fine.

The legs I don't like like. The height is fine; I apreciate the small and squat look to him. I just don't like the theighs. I never like the idea of one printed piece on one thigh. It looks a little messy and spontanious. In this case, I think that a replecation of either one of the theighs would have looked better.

The weapons look nice. I like the mutant claw on his left arm, I feel that this looks really nice, and would be a good one for display. I like his flame spear on the other hand as well. The spinning action is a nice play feature for kids; they'll play with it for hours! It's a nice look too, excluding the bright red.

That draws the curtains on this review! I'm going to rate this set in three different catogories; Toy value (how good it is to play with and pose ect.), Design Value (The design, including the colour scheme and how it was built) and Moccist Value (The amount of good pieces).
Here are Pyrox's results;

Toy Value: 3/5

Design Value: 4/5

Moccist Value: 3/5

Overall Value: 10/15

See ya next time with Rocka!

Quoting Ahpolki Ihu He looks more like a demon than a Minotaur.
true, true, he does. Although I can see where the designers were going with this set in terms of being an alien Minotaur.

Quoting Legobob [DragonMaster627] Another great review my friend :) Just like with Ogrum, I think this set is awesome but I don't plan on getting it. And I think that the mask is the BEST part of this set! It looks AMAZING! Also, the resemblance to the Piraka is striking I must say. Looking forward to Rocka's review :)
Indeed, Pyrox's mask is pretty cool, and it does have a strikingly close resembalence to a Skakdi...
