Hero Factory Brain Attack Review #5: Ogrum
Enter set #44007; Ogrum! He is one of the larger sets, with a total of 59 pieces!
About this creation
Let's take a look at what's inside le bag:

For the skeleton pieces, we have one narrow torso piece,
four regular upper limb pieces in grey
four long lower limb pieces,
one extra short lower limb piece,
three single socket connectors,
two brown Bionicle Piraka feet
and a single trans medium green skull.

Armour consists of one dark green regular chest piece,
two sise 2 armour pieces in dark green,
four sise 3 armour pieces in trans medium green,
two "Savage Planet" paws in brown,
one gunmetal grey bosom plate,
two gunmetal grey shoulder cups
and Ogrum's mask.

Extra pieces include two gunmetal grey mace halfs,
a green brain parasite
and a bunch of little technic pieces.

Let's see what Ogrum looks like once he is assembled:

There. To be honest, Ogrum is probably my favorite set in this line. I really like him for many different reasons.

The back. As I said in Bruizer's review, the tails of the Brain Parasites do a very good job of covering up the back, as well as adding texture. However, the tails are very stiff, and want to pop out of the little axel hole that the end plugs in. Having the tail down also limits poseability around the head. For kids who are playing with it, then it's best to have the tail out. The people who are buying this for display are probably better off plugging it in.

The first thing I notice are the gunmetal grey pieces around the chest area. It's a little confusing as to why Ogrum is wearing armour, considering that he was a peaceful creature before being infected, and even if it came afterwards, the armour is unlikely to be a mutation, because then it would be organic.

However, I'm happy that the armour is there. I like the concept here; The designers made him a very thin character, and added large armour onto him. The armour being packed really close together actually makes him look stronger and menacing than a character who has a wide frame, like Bruizer or Pyrox.

I like the face. It is a very steryotypical Ogre/Troll face, like the kind of thing you would see in a fairytale, although it's far from cliche; the frown, the way he's bearing his teeth, the massive spikes coming out of his chin all help make this guy look like someone you seriously would not want to meet in a dark alley. Or in fact, any alley at all. Scratch that, you seriously would not want to meet him anywhere!

The colours are good. It's good that the designers have braught back some old Bionicle colours, with the brown and dark green. This set also has a fair amount of trans medium pieces which aren't just skull pieces. This set is definatly one of the best for MOCcists.

I know you can't quite see them, but the weapons are very nice. His flail is a nice thing for children to play with, but you can't exactly pose it or anything. Which is fair enough, it would be cruel to expect Lego to come up with something which defies gravity. The tendrils on the other arms are very nice. However you pose them, they look like they are waving around like snakes. It is a very cool thing for lego to do. I'm a bit confused as to why Ogrum does not get two proper hands. It looks very unfinished. I guess the Savage Planet paws are ment to be the hands, but still, it would have been nice to get two brown Hands. Oh well, can't have everything.

And that's why I love Ogrum. I'm going to rate this set in three different catogories; Toy value (how good it is to play with and pose ect.), Design Value (The design, including the colour scheme and how it was built) and Moccist Value (The amount of good pieces).
Here are Ogrum's results;

Toy Value: 4/5

Design Value: 5/5

Moccist Value: 5/5

Overall Value: 14/15

See ya next time with Pyrox!

Quoting Legobob [DragonMaster627] Good review as always. I like this set too (although I don't plan on getting it. I'm running low on Xmas money [Actually, any money at all XD]). The colours are handy for Moccers who have those pieces already, and it is nice Lego are expanding on the "colour" line. It is good for Moccers :)
Indeed :P
