The new flagship of the atlantic navy, the tripoli class is a medium sized helicopter carrier built to provide protection from submarines and incoming enemy aircraft. the ships standard complement of aircraft is 3 heavy lift helicopters and a squadron of 5 VTOL jet fighters, the lead ship of the class(Tripoli)was commissioned in august of 2020. she is named after the city of Tripoli, Iowa

Although she is designated as a helicopter carrier the ship has the same armament as the Enterprise class destroyers which means the ship can also be designated/used as a destroyer
