I really enjoyed building this MOC and the challenge of the second round. I thought this would work well as a wall hanging, but the worry of it falling and smashing on the floor has, unfortunetly, kept it rather horizontal for the time being.
When the Fellowship is forced through the mountains, the path turns dangerous as allies turn to foes. This MOC took its inspiration more from the visuals of the movie than the text in the book.
Your opponent pulled out more compact techniques, and a sense of motion more than you. And yet, you pulled out the stops with creativity (wall hanging vs. baseplate) and wowed with size and a fantastic avalanche. Because you captured the immensity of Caradhas better, you get my vote ...congratulations!
For this one, I'm going to have to judge on my overall impression of the MOC. A.N.C hunt displayed a fantastic sense of motion with his figs (more so than you IMO), and his build presented some great techniques. However, I think your avalanche is more realistic and also displays a great sense of motion. All your SNOT-work adds another level of interest to this build as well. When all is said and done, you've got my vote, but only by the narrowest margin. I could still see this one going either way. Good luck with the other two judges!
