3000 E-One Tornado Rescue Pumper
The 3000 E-One Tornado rescue pumper is E-One’s newest offering for Martian Fire Departments. Proudly built right here in Tharsis City, the Tornado has all the features you’ve come to expect from E-One.
About this creation

The Tornado is well equipped for all environments that are encountered here on Mars. She has full anti-grav pads backed by a 1.21 GW reactor allowing her full flight capability, even when fully loaded. With a top speed of 240mpg (400kph), the Tornado can quickly get to any incident. 500 feet of 8” large diameter supply hose is provided as well as 250 feet of 4” blitz line. Another 1,000 feet of 4” dead hose is included. Four ten foot lengths of hard suction provide flexibility in drafting operations away from domes. A full Whelen lighting package is standard. LED light bars surround the apparatus, ensuring all will notice the Tornado at any distance. A Federal Q Siren is mounted on the front bumper to announce the Tornado’s presence to civilians while inside domes.

The crew cab is spacious allowing the room for the engineer and two exosuit equipped firefighters. The engineer’s position allows his or her full control of the rig, to include driving and firefighting operations. Sensor panels wrap around the engineer’s seat, allowing for full command and control of any situation. The cabin is fully environmentally sealed for exterior operations. Additionally, crew oxygen and power quick connects are available to recharge exosuit tanks and batteries. Finally, the two inch thick Lexan crew compartment doors are upward hinging, allowing for easy entrance and exit. The doors are designed to enable above incident operations to include jump maneuvers.

The Tornado boasts the newest pump from Waterous, pushing 2250GPM at a maximum of 300psi while retaining the pump and fly capability you all love. Coupled with a 500 gallon water tank and a supercooled 200 gallon liquid nitrogen tank, the Tornado is rated for class A, B, C, D, and plasma fires (please note liquid nitrogen is the only approved agent for class D and plasma fires.) Two 2 ˝ inch preconnects are readily available inside the cabin for rapid deployment when the apparatus cannot reach the incident, or interior operations are required. Both woven carbon fiber hoses are only capable of handling water. They can run 250GPM at 150psi. Both hoses are designed to be used as jump lines for firefighters when over incidents. The hoses are on tensioned reels that can be preprogrammed to stop at a certain distance, further aiding firefighters in jump operations.

The primary means of combating incidents is through the roof mounted high reach expandable turret (HRET). The HRET is equipped with both a snozzle and a deluge master stream as well as a full sensor suit. The snozzle is capable of piercing through six inches of hardened durasteel plating, three inches of armored ceramic tile, or two inches of fullerene carbon fiber monomer. The snozzle is rated for 500GPM at 200psi with water or 250GPM at 125psi with liquid nitrogen. The master stream is a remotely adjustable pattern and flow rate Task Force Tips nozzle. The master stream can safely handle 1500GPM flow through the primary nozzle. Additionally, the pump can be switched to the liquid nitrogen tank and flow 800GPM through the master stream. The sensor suite mounted on the HRET has an ultra-high definition 2160P visible light/infrared/low light camera. Additionally, a 1 million candle power light is mounted beside the camera for illumination. The sensors also boast a micrometer ground penetrating radar unit to see inside buildings or vehicles for pinpoint fire suppression.

The E-One Tornado is a rescue vehicle as well, and the tools available reflect that. The compartments are fully stocked with extraction tools for any situation. Hurst cutter/spreaders, circular saws, monofilament edged axes, and the latest from Husqvarna, the laser saw. These tools allow the firefighters the ability to remove anybody from the worst situation with ease.

The firefighters exosuits are another fine technological advancement. Previous suits offered a trade off in strength or endurance. The new Applied Cybernetics ER-4000i exosuits give you both and offer more. The ER-4000i is able to dead lift 1,500lbs or carry 1,000lbs. Advanced thrusters/retrorockets counter the effects of using large diameter hose single handed. With these, one firefighter can easily use a 4” handline at any incident. Air capacity is 120 minutes at regular use and the suit runs for 3 hours on a single charge. The ER-4000i comes with full jump capability as well, allowing firefighters to drop from up to 8,000 feet above any incident and land without harm.
