Dravous grew up in a large Onu-Matoran village, prized for its mask manufacturing. Dravous was a small Matoran, with a weak back and arms, but he had an amazing intellect. When he became old enough, he got a job at a small mask factory. He was only supposed to inspect the completed masks, but one day a co-worker was out sick and he had to fill his position of dipping the masks in the Energized Protodermis. With a giant pair of tongs, he slowly dipped mask after mask into the boiling liquid. Then all of a sudden, one of the machines on the floor below malfunctioned and knocked out a support beam beneath Dravous. Thrown off balance, Dravous fell into the Energized Protodermis. The other workers desperately tried to fish him out but their attempts were futile. After a few minutes of frenzied scramble, Dravous rose from the Protodermis, taller and stronger. He looked down at himself and was overcome with disbelief. He had been transformed! He looked to his friends expecting to see the same reaction on their faces, but all he saw in their eyes was horror. Confused, Dravous slowly lifted his hands and felt his face. Instead of his Ruru, what he felt was hard, rough and twisted. In a panic he ran to a window and looked at his reflection. In the window, looking back at him, was a face of bone and teeth, it was as if his entire face had burned off and all that had remained was a skull. Horrified at himself, he turned back to his comrades and saw them slowly move in towards him. One Matoran grabbed his arm and tried to comfort him but Dravous swung his arm away and kicked the Matoran in the stomach. Not sure what was overcoming him; Dravous jumped out the window and ran. He took up residence in the sewers of the city, isolating himself entirely, except for the occasional job for the underground mob.
The evil that possessed Dravous’s mind that fateful day only grew in intensity over the next few years. He began to be able to control it less and less and eventually it consumed him entirely, fitting him a crazed mind to match his horrid visage. He was later disbanded from the mob when he killed their leader and stole his shoes. These shoes are one of his prized possessions, alongside his twin axes, and serve as a reminder of his independency. And then there was the nuclear war.
After nuclear missiles had ravaged the city and killed millions, Dravous came out from the sewer and surveyed the damage. There were few survivors left in the city, most had gone on to seek refuge in the north. Taking this keen opportunity, he harassed the survivors and stole all their supplies. He then headed north, following the other survivors. On his journey, he encountered a Toa named Dathar who had been sent to kill him. Dravous had assassins sent to kill him before but none of them proved to be quite such a match. They fought a long while and just when Dravous was about to be defeated, a group of refugee Kikanalo came charging by and trampled the Toa, allowing Dravous to make his escape. Dravous obtained a low-profile after that encounter and avoids running into Toa unless he has an advantage. Looting others to make his way, Dravous continues his journey to find peace amongst the wreckage of the planet.
Here he is!
Lower legs and feet. His "shoes" are my favorite part. :D :D Puffy tongues anyone?
Torso. I experimented with something new this round and I think it turned out well. :)
Arm and ax.
Backside.
Zoom-in. Custom head! I've been waiting to use this design for a while.
Struggling with his mind.
Now time for some poses.
Epicness with axes. :P
Ambushing some people.
Looking cool.
One last shot.
4th Wall:
Well this was pretty fun. I built this dude in two days after getting back from vacation. The first day I was kinda lacking inspiration but he took off on the second day after I built the shoes. :D
I love mocs that are almost completely monochrome (black) and use the Witch Doctor head ! (I even made one myself...Which was Slenderman) It just screams EVIL ! The blocky feet and chest is really cool, and the HF armor on the upper arms looks fantastic. The weapons are basic yet effective. My only complaint is the strange proportions of the legs. Either way, this moc is really cool.
WOWZA! Lovin' his head, and his axes, too! The boots are cool too. (they'd look cooler with black ball joints though) The only gripe I have is the fact that the shins and forearms look a little... incomplete, if you know what I mean.
Them axes :3 Love those axes. The shoes are nicely designed, but I just don't like how they fit in :| overall though this guy is pretty freakin epic :)
The build's nice overall (not feeling the shoes though). But the backstory... that's an extremely irresponsible mask factory! I mean, how the he|| did they get their hands on some EP in the first place? That's like, the rarest substance in the universe, caused the Shattering, and they're using it on Noble Kanohi? XP
