About this creation

I’m back! It feels like ages since I uploaded my last creation...
Anyways, I thought I would make a tribute to one of my favourite builders on MOCpages, Malte Dorowski. And what better car to make then a Porsche?!
I don’t think I have used any of his amazing techniques in this car, so don’t get too excited...

I love the old red 911s, especially when they have the big black bumpers and trim. So I decided to make the outline of the windows and roof black to match the ‘tea tray’ spoiler and bumpers. I think I have got the side profile of Porsches pretty well; with Porsches, it all comes down to the roof...

The front isn’t amazing, but it has all the main aspects of the 930, like the thin black line around the bumper.

This Porsche is probably different to any Porsche on MOCpages, as I wasn’t completely satisfied with the straight lines down the side of the car when I looked at it from the top... So I put some hinges in, and made the sides come in a bit, to make the front 2 studs less wide than the rear - giving the car a more realistic feel.

The trunk opens up, not sure what goes in here, whether it’s a boot, or a space for a spare wheel... So I just left it empty.

The doors open, notice the new slopes I ordered?

I think the black trim around the windows looks really good from the back.

The engine cover lifts up, not much room in here.

So I made a compact, unrealistic engine.

New style of interior for me, the steering system is still in the car, but is not connected to the steering wheel. So I managed to make the interior look more realistic. Notice the little pedals. Also, the whole interior is made to look like the real car’s.

Hopefully you can tell how the sides slope inwards here...

I think the rear is the best part of the car, the lights, the bumper and the ‘tea tray’ spoiler look really good.

The interior again, notice the handbrake...

Side view. It looks more like a VW Beetle from this angle.

Not my favourite part of the car, the photos make it look worse than it actually is.

Everything open.

I couldn’t fill these gaps in, but they shows how the sides go inwards.

Goodbye view, and probably my favourite view of the car.
There you go, my tribute to one of my favourite builders - Malte Dorowski, Remember to check his work out, it is way better than this! :)
I hope you liked it Malte!

I'm impressed with your skills improvement. This is so far your best model, the shapes are awesome, the rear is fantastic, the side is fabulous and the interior makes the gran finale. I just LOVED this creation! keep on going, man!

Great job! I love all your unusual solutions! :D I like the round roof and The interior looks nice, love the handbrake and peddle ideas :) I think it does a great job of resembling the car :) I do agree with Lego Builders with the headlights but other than that you did a great job! Malte would be proud :D
Haha, the handbrake and pedals were completely a last minute thing, they nearly didn't get added ;) |

Nice build. I think the headlights could be slightly more upright though. Just a suggestion. Well done, keep it up. -LB Jr.
Thanks :) I agree with you on the headlights, but the problem was they were wedged in on the hinge... |

I understand :) (you don't might if it takes lots of work) maybe make the wheelbase a stud or two longer. It will be some work but it makes a perfect car!
Thanks for the tips :) The next car I make will hopefully be my own branded hypercar! |

First a suggestion: move the windscreen one or two srud backwards: this car had a long bonnet/boot. For the rest you captured this iconic car so well, I love it! But, one thing I would change is use grey wheels and black rimdisks. But still a great vehicle!
Thanks, I agree with you on the windscreen and wheels, but the windscreen obstructs the doors if any further back, and I don't have grey wheels and black rims... Thanks for the suggestions anyway, who knows, I might make a revised version! |
