My Entry For The Classic Space Pocket Money Contest

Well, this was harder than I expected..

About this creation

This is my entry for the CS Pocket Money contest. As you can see, I don't own any CS Lego at all, so I had to improvise - I took the stickers off my Ferrari pit crew team, and swapped their faces and hands to create something that almost resembles a Classic Spaceman, and with the vehicles I used some pieces often used in the original CS sets. Having struggled with this build for a while, last night I decided to just get on with it, and see what happened.

The first alternative includes a little jet thing and a little drone, which has a cool claw.. By the way, the stand is not part of the set.

The claw can fold away when not in use ;)

The second alternative is made up of a little search vehicle and a little command centre. The command centre has an 'illegal collection' but in the days of Classic Space that was okay. At least I think so anyway!

The last alternative is similar to the first one (I hope that doesn't knock off too many points!), as it includes a jet (inspired by the chrome and yellow fighters off Star Wars) and a drone, which has somehow ended up looking a bit like scorpion..

My favourite part of the drone is the pincers at the front-
"Let me go!"

The full set consists of 80 pieces (it might be 79, I can't remember!)

I do realise that my entry is not exactly the best, but I didn't know how much longer I had left to complete it, so built this in a hurry late last night. At least I've finished it now though!

It would have been good to have had more variety here. 6 The solid build quality in this MOC makes for some good swooshing and zooming fun. Two mini-figs, within the parts limit, with lots of tools, add to the play potential. Perhaps you could have added to the playability and used up the whole 100 part allowance? Finally there�s the claw. Great for grabbing rocks, radioactive things or just picking up the litter around the spaceport. 8 I think that you�ve got the Cs feel spot on but haven�t really pushed the style beyond the sets of the 70s and 80s. 6 Total score 26.

Thank you very much David! I'm very happy with that :) It's supposed to be a drone that can help out with exploration, perhaps I should have gone into more detail when mentioning it. Yeah maybe I should have, I was just relieved to have finished it, I was struggling with it for a while. Thanks for this great contest, I never would have built anything like this otherwise!
