Tanker 1 " El Toro Loco "
Who says everything is bigger in Texas?
About this creation
This is our new, gigantic, Tanker 1. Tanker 1 is a 1990 Pierce Arrow Dry-Side Tanker. Tanker 1 carries a whopping 4,250 Gallons of water and 250 Gallons of Class A foam. Tanker 1 has a 1,000 GPM Waterous top mount pump.

The main feature of Tanker 1 besides the huge amount of water it carries is the two deck guns. The deck gun mounted on the pump is for the water and has an output of 750 GPM and the de gun mounted on the body is used for the Class A foam, and has an output of 300 GPM. Tanker 1 also has a 75' aluminum ladder, a Fold-a-Tank, a 1,500 Watt light tower, and 3 dump valves. Tanker 1 responds 1st out to fires in areas with little or no hydrants and 3rd out to fires where there are hydrants.

NOTES: Rescue 1 has been turned into a field command unit.
STUPID QUESTION: I was wondering if you have a 1,000 GPM pump and a 1,000 Gallon tank, does that mean you will use up your water in a minute?

Quoting Zak Overmyer To address your pumping question: No, you won't necessarily use up all your water. Each hoseline or deck gun is operated at a different GPM. (2.5" is normally at 250-300 gpm, an 1.75" at 175-200, monitors can be 500-1000gpm.) Also everything has different pressures and such. It also depends on your available water as well. Normally you won't be able to flow 1000 gpm just from your tank. Just wait until you take a real pumping class and you will learn everything.
Thanks Zak

Quoting Thomas Johnson To help you out with your question, no it doesnt go away in a minut, it depends on what diameter line your using. If you open up a stang gun or a monitor yes it would be gone in a minute. And if you are being supplied, then your fine. If you are wondering how i know all this stuff its because im a expert firefighting particulary water supply and rescue operations.
Ahh, That answers my question! Thanks
