The blood effect is very nice, this technic/piece has a huge potential =) I'm not a fan of the lbg tree, it just doesn't look realistic for me... I actually would have never thought that someone can get such a MOC so popular, but well, you made it ;)
Thanks for the advice, I can see what you mean about the tree. I'm fairly surprised at how well this has done too, it's gotten more likes then some of my favourite creations that I've built lately. Never can predict how popular/unpopular things will be these days... |

This is superb! Great job on the trees. Where do you get your foliage? Pick-a-brick, bricklink, collected sets? The trees are amazing! I like the multi-layered foliage. Great rocks leading up the hill too!
Thanks David, the foliage is mostly from Bricklink, but a fair bit is from collected sets as well. |

it s a great scenen indeed! I will retouch my rock facades, hopefully they will look as good as this, I m at 10 kits 'riddles for the ring' with the precious, a few more, and I ll be there, this piece inspires me a different tune, lol, I d love someone to turn some lor scenes around in a funny way, like, golum got tired of the ring and got married, or gandalf was burned for witchcraft, ect, lol, you really usedthe figs well, it s beautiful! happy new year luke! [I m not your father! breathes] lol! |

I always felt sorrier for Lurtz than I did Boromir in this scene... I guess I always thought the Uruk-Hai in general were pretty cool. :P You did an excellent job with the scene; Love the way you have the UH's "emerging" out of the woods... It adds a whole new level of creepiness! Good stuff! |

Excellent build but your cockiness and displeasure at your own work surprises and upsets me a little; this is a VERY good build. The dirt hill, though simple in technique, looks great; especially how it curves and I like the two-tone soil. The two boulders are a great addition and placing Lurtz on one was an even better choice. I love the use of layered leaves instead of hundreds of pieces of grass side by side; it gives a look of leaf litter and I'm not a fan of the "hundreds of grass" technique. Good luck! |

Gorgeous piece of work, Luke. Just gorgeous. I love all the techniques that you used to support your lazi...er...artiness;) The trees look great, and the hills of dirt are perfect. My favorite part is your use of the limb pieces for grass. It makes it look more of an ivy-like ground covering rather than grass, which is an excellent effect. Nice touch with the horn of Gondor and Aragorn rushing in to the rescue. Great work. |

Quoting Parakitor (formerly known as Gilkah)
I love Boromir's horn of Gondor. The landscape techniques are great. I like the rock texture, but it seems to me you weren't really challenged by that :) Just curious: are all the bricks beneath the raised level brown, or did you use multi-colored bricks to add internal support?
Thanks, and to tell the truth you're right about my not putting my best effort into this. I have some other things for school which I've been procrastinating on too much, so I just whipped this build up in a couple of hours. All the bricks which I used for support are brown, though I only used a couple columns to support some large plates so it's not solid brown. I'm not sure if I would have enough bricks to make it solid, though my sparse use was more to save time than to avoid stretching my collection. |
