Hey everyone! I hope you all had a great Christmas and new year! For my first MOC of 2013, I've built a '54 Mercury. I built this for two reasons, 1. Because I've never built a 'led sled' before, 2. Because this is my entry into December's LUGNuts challenge over on flickr! I've never built a 'led sled' before, but I've always wanted to, so I spent a lot of time researching them and then decided to start building one. I didn't use chrome this time because I wanted to give it a bit of a unique look, so I used metallic silver instead for the bumpers, side trim, engine, steering wheel, gauges etc., just like Will.I.Am's (you know, that singer ;), '58 Corvette that was built by West Coast Customs. The Mercury is red with white interior, chopped, slammed, shaven and looks real mean! It has suicide doors, a skeleton arm as a gear stick, a Mercury Flathead V8 and is, in my opinion, the best car I have made! I hope you all like it and and enjoy it as much as I enjoyed building it! Thank you everyone and have a great 2013!!!
Great job on this car, very sleek and an simple but very effective color scheme. I've seen led sleds of 40's cars, and thought it looked stupid. But that was because I hadn't seen it done to a 50's car! I love the rear body, especially the side panels over the wheels. Good job! Come on, three more people comment to give this the 50 it deserves!
happy new year! wow! too bad you coul nt finish it for christmas, all it needs is santa! ,lol, I love that period, 40-60 s are my best, especially prototypes, you did some pretty cool models before, you have great taste in vehicles, this one is very well sculpted, those parts seemed made for oldies, lol, it s too bad you don t have a pic ref, to see how close you are, but, it looks a bit like 'cobra' s car a stallone movie, his car was absolutely gorgeous, seeing yours make me wish to see his car painted the same! very nice car!
