Miniland snowmobile built for building contest.

About this creation

This Miniland-scale snowmobile was built for Palikkatakomo's mid-sized winter building contest. It is not modelled after any specific brand or snowmobile but more like combination of all the different snowmobile pictures that I found online. The driver's overall is made after very common blue-black overall that you can always see tourists using during holiday season in my hometown, Rovaniemi.

I am not sure where I get the idea of actually making miniland-scale snowmobile but for some reason, I just thought about using those hinge plates on miniland figures legs to allow the legs to be spread nicely. I tried that technique in LDD and started building the saddle of the snowmobile from there. Quickly I made up my mind about making snowmobile and after 3-4 hours of desinging in LDD, the creation was in prototype version. Next day I built it from actual bricks (and fixed some problems) but after seeing the prototype's colorscheme in real form, in the next day I recolored it first in LDD and then with actual bricks. Finally, I made the 16x16 stud platform to give the creation some background. I also tried bulding out some tracks to the snow, an effect that I think works nicely and which might work well in larger creation.

Halo outfit was not intended. Blue & black outfit came from similar "safari overalls" and the helmet was done after motocross helmet. I thought about making the helmet more rounded and elaborated but in the end, simplicity won me over.
