The Watchtower of Amon Sūl (9471+9472+9474)
And again I try to be my own Lego Designer ^^, this time with an alternate model for the sets 9471 "Uruk-hai Army" (only the wall section), 9472 "Attack on Weathertop" and 9474 "The Battle of Helm's Deep".
About this creation
I got the Weathertop for Christmas, and from then on I wanted to build Elendil's great watchtower on the highest of the Weather Hills.

Because I had all my LotR-sets close at hand I had the idea to make something every other Lego LotR-fan would be able to rebuild. So I took these three sets and built a tower on Lego's little weathertop (which I like :D). As always I wanted to give a set-like appearence and so I tried to use Lego's weathertop as it is as the base for the tower.

Additionally I "translated" the model into a LDD file so that you guys are able to rebuild it (because of some problemes with LDD the model in the file is not quite complete, but I think you'll be able to build it anyway ;D).

Hope you like it. And maybe you're inspired now to create your own watchtower on Lego's Weathertop...or on your own Weathertop who knows ^^.

AXIOS!

Quoting Ryan "Ronin" Dragonslayer Superb! I love that you used three existing lego sets and even included LDD directions so anyone else can build this. The curve of the tower is well done as are the detail effects and I love that it opens up for playability. I agree with Matthew : you should enter the MELO http://www.mocpages.com/group_mocs.php?id=18639 You don't need to build something huge; a little vig will do fine as this first round is just the qualifier and we have a few open spots for everyone to pass. Great build!
I was toying with this idea...I guess I feared the next rounds, so I did not join yet...but now, now I just have to do it I think...OK I'LL DO IT! Thanks for your comments!!!

Amazing alternative model! I love the curvature of the tower! Nicely detailed! The playability is sweet! I love how it can open up, making it even cooler! You should make something for MELO! (Middle Earth Lego Olympics)
