It reminds me an old fantastic movie from the 60's (?): "The forbidden planet". This monster is really well done!! |

Looks like more trouble for the ORRT;) Love the build on the visitor. Some excellent connections. I like your use of wheels for the eyes. NPU. The base looks some good signature David Alexander Smith work, and I love the vehicles, especially the ship, (shouldn't be any surprises there). Kudos to the yellow spaceman for having the presence of mind to film the whole thing. Nice, humorous touch there. Well done, David.
My brother and I often pondered whether that piece was a gun or a camera. To this day I think LEGO knew exactly what they were doing with this ambiguity. |

I'm really enjoying catching up on the exploits of the ORRT, they all make me smile. Love this one, are we certain this 'visitor' is friendly? Delightful build, especially as it has so many CS elements - the base with radar, a cracking little ship and the buggy too - it's set my CS buds a-tingling :) I'm currently working on something completely and utterly inspired by the ORRT - it started out as a castle build (you'll see why) but what with the pocket money CS contest and the ORRT, it has turned into something a little different. You have a lot to answer for ;p
A Jon B, ORRT inspired build that started out as a castle piece - this I have got to see!!! |

The wonderful base is not really a surprise, coming from you (but still amazing) - The Visitor is one of your best creature, full of great ideas in the build, awesome work !
Thanks, I really liked the Visitor's face, glad he ticked your boxes. |

D'awwww, can we keep him? He looks very cool, (and cute :3) and the base has some wonderful details as well. I also wanted to let you know that you have turned me over to the dark side. I'm almost finished with my Pocket Money entry :3

I think this was how the wolf became domesticated into the dog by ancient man?! There always seems to be one of a species that is different that the others... either a bit braver, smarter, hungrier, or lonelier than the others! Hope this guy stays around a bit... he's cute! :)
He might have some adventures of his own, who knows. |

I am ancient enough to have had some of the original Lego Space kits when they first came out so this is especially appealing! Splendid, and amusing, work!
If you are interested, why not relive some of those memories here: http://www.mocpages.com/group_mocs.php?id=21998 |

A friendly monster this time? It's eyes seem nice! I like the photo looking past the control centre to the big, red monster behind. I also like how this really is Classic Space and the min-figs are videoing the alien, not zapping it with lasers. There's also some nice studless bits and greebles, such as the steps up to the control centre and the grab-handles by the door. A fun space-scooter ship to play with too!
Thanks David. This one was born out of building with my daughter. I'd been telling her how Daddy and his brother got Beta Command Centre for Christmas one year and had to share the set ( http://www.brickset.com/detail/?set=6970-1). She thought we should make something similar, but with a friendly monster. She received the excellent 7346 Seaside house for Christmas, which we've been making together too ( http://www.brickset.com/detail/?set=7346-1). |
