Melo Round 1:Osgiliath
My entry for the first round of the middle earth lego olympics. This build took me approximately 6 days to build. After receiving the mines of moria set for christmas, I added many small details, and polished the whole build up somewhat. Anyways, enough of that small talk, lets get to the build. In the time before the Fellowship of the Ring, Gondor had half of Osgiliath under their control. After many small skirmishes and battles, the garrison in Osgiliath was thoroughly exhausted from the numerous attacks by the seemingly endless orc army. But then the brave captain of Gondor, Boromir, son of the Steward of Gondor, Denethor, came to the defense of Osgiliath. He fought back the fierce orc attacks, and eventually captured the other side of Osgiliath, on the opposite bank of the river Anduin. In this scene, Boromir, and a garrison of Gondorian archers and knights repel an orc attack on the Gondor controlled half of Osgiliath, before the Gondorian army had captured the opposite bank. I hope you enjoy, and as always, if you enjoy the build, please rate and comment. Wish me luck! ~RORY~
About this creation
The necessary link to the Middle earth olympics .
A front view of the scene.

A top view of the battlements.

The bridge crossing the river Anduin, where the majority of the fighting is occuring.

A fire ball launched by the witch king blows apart part of the battlements.

The fire ball launched by the witch king, from the witch king's view.

Boromir and some knights attempted to hold the Bridge, but were pushed back all the way to the main gate.

The bridge, which was inspired by AP, in his build Here . I really like how it turned out.

The fire ball shot by the witch king.

The top of the gate house.

The bridge.

The wall exploding in from the witch kings fireball.

The left wall with a rock face in it.
The fire ball from the witch kings perspective.

Captain Boromir.

The orc army.
The peasants, sadly all dead.

Great build! A unique take on Osgiliath, as the city is usually built from within in ruins. I especially like the Witch King's fire attack and the rockwork detail in the left portion of the wall.
