My entry for the awesome contest "The Classic Space Pocket Money Contest" !
About this creation

So this is the main model, which use exactly 100 parts.

Alternate #1

Alternate #2

Alternate #3

Alternate #4

Alternate #5

Alternate #6

Alternate #7

As you can see on the pics, I've tried to cover all the main fields of Classic-Space, with ground vehicles, ships, robots, walkers, and even a (very small) outpost !

It was SO fun to build ! The editing of the pics, however, has took me forever... but I wanted a nice presentation.

Thanks to the two David for this wonderful contest !!!

And hello to all my friends of MOCpages, as you know, I'm way more active on Flickr now, because I don't have the time to run 2 websites and I had to choose. MOCpage is still a wonderful place but I was bored because of it's so slow, unfortunately...
Anyway... Hope you like my entry and keep building mates :-D

Quoting LukeClarenceVan The Revanchist Fantastic entry, I suppose it's a tad late to wish you the best of luck though... You're one of the best CS builders I know, this creation looks exactly like something LEGO would make. Love the emu walker alternate especially.
Thanks a lot !

An interesting model whose purpose seems to be both collecting samples and tracking satellites (or is it a big communications dish?). The tractor unit at the front looks very powerful and well up to the job of towing the trailer. 9 An abundance of amazing alternative builds accompanies this MOC. I love the variety within them too. Walkers, flyers, robots, buggies and bases. There are so many play options here. A dazzling display of creativity! 10 Where do you put the things that you pick up with the claw? I think that this slight impracticality is classic CS but perhaps it detracts from the playability? The big dish is fun though and would be great to spin around, scanning the sky. I like how the claw is mounted on a turntable for full functionality. The MOC looks solidly built and designed for play. 10 The balloon tyres and blue tractor unit has echoes of the CS of the mid-1980s, such as the 6928 Uranium Search Vehicle. I think that this MOC would have fitted in very well with the kits of this era but perhaps doesn’t push the genre as this category requires. 8 Total score 37

Design: A spot-on CS vehicle, with clear utility functions, the rotating claw at the rear is the sort of feature that makes CS brilliant. There are a few neat modern building techniques on show, which I like. 9 Piece Selection: Some of the crafty use of pieces in the main build set you up for a wealth of alternative models. For sheer variety and sustained quality, I think you may have the best alternatives in the competition. The ostrich and robot need special mention, as they are simply brilliant. 10 Playability: Well you get a fully mobile radar dish, a mobile claw, a two-part rover and two min-figs, that’s a lot of play value for the pieces. No extra special detaching functions or launchers prevents this getting the full 10. 9 CS Factor: 1984 Lego at its very best. The MOC manages to take the theme a little further with subtle piece usage and some smart building techniques without altering the spirit and feel at all. 9.5

Excellent work here, Crimso! You blow me away with all those alternates. The main build is definitely my favorite. Love the shaping of it and how it looks like a real set. The robot looks great. I got a good chuckle out of the robo-ostrich;) On the ship, the upside down dish and the claw for a nose really stood out to me. Very well done. One of the best entries. Good luck in the contest.

Hi Crimso, I am very sorry I missed this entry. It is absolutely brilliant and has to be one of the favourites. The main model looks like an official set and the clever “two part features” in the alternatives are excellent. The walkers are crazy awesome. Good luck.

Ah yes! What a wonderful way to go with this, the scaled down 6950 rocket launcher as a trailer and the much more 6874 style rig just nail this is a cs Crimso classic. And that little base option with the mudguards as it's base is just totally cool, as are many of the options you devised. Wasn't that just a blast?

Wow, that's awesome! You could put that in a catalogue of the early 1980s and no one would notice the difference! It has a great "Generation 2 look". The Alternatives are great, too, especially the one with the robot. Great job! :-)) And good luck with the judges. I don't envy them, that will be a tough decision! :-))
