There's a terror in the body, a hunter where Makuta fell. I present Vakhaiv: the remainder, the scourge within the shell.
About this creation
"Back down and shut up or I'll drill you a new one!"
Name: Vakhaiv
Gender: Male
Element: Iron
Species: Matoran
Race: Fe-Toa Hordika
Titles: "scourge of the shell"
Kanohi: Inaccesible Huna
Weapons: Protosteel Drill "Grey Vandal"
Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
Affiliation: None
Personality: Usually savage, angry, and very impulsive. Sometimes extremely intelligent and cunning.
Vakhaiv was a Fe-Matoran from Stelt long ago, but eventually became a Toa of Iron. (Nothing of note happened to him before that time.)
Soon after transforming, he was placed in stasis by the OOMN. The goal of this action was to prevent the Brotherhood from discovering Vakhaiv's existence during the purge (killing off Toa of Iron, Magnetism, Plasma, etc.).
However, the location of this stasis center was overrun by Visorak. Unaware due to his slumber, Vakhaiv was mutated while still in stasis.
At this point, the stasis tube was broken, and slowly began to malfunction and wear out. Those maintaining that facility on behalf of the OOMN were killed or mutated irreversibly by the Visorak horde; Vakhaiv was left on his own.
Some time after that, when the Great Spirit Robot was ultimately finished off by Mata Nui and the Prototype Robot, most of the inhabitants were evacuated. Unbeknownst to them, Vakhaiv remained within the dead robot. Within a very short time, his stasis tube shattered completely and he escaped from it, disoriented and angry.
Everyone had left him, forgotten about him, and he was a Hordika, a monster. The stasis tube had prevented his complete transformation, so Vakhaiv wasn't fully mindless. And so now, Vakhaiv roams the empty lands within the Great Spirit Robot, picking off the other remainders, simply surviving.
At some point Vakhaiv killed an Onu-Matoran who had been using a patched-up mining drill in an attempt to escape the robot. Vakhaiv took the drill but was unable to escape, instead repurposing it for tearing apart his enemies (the list of which included everyone).
Vakhaiv's current status is unknown, though he's probably standing an a corpse.
He's in there. He's angry.
As I used to do when I first joined MOCpages... here's an armorless shot of the build's frame.
Vakhaiv is my entry to the third and final round of the Inhabitants contest. Wish me luck.
But more importantly...
Today marks my one-year MOCiversary.
Or in more normal terms, one year ago today I joined MOCpages. I figured I'd write about some of the highlights throughout the year.
The first project I completed was the Toa Rela, my own Toa team, including my self-MOC, Pirai. (Links to all of the team can be found on Reythe's page.) Soon after that, one of my initial successes was in the original Self-MOC-Off Tournament (the second one is starting up right now, right here). My entries included Galaxus and Callan. Sadly my run there was cut short, but I'd established a small following and some confidence. I won the Non-Humanoid Contest with the Darettu, a fun little tablescrap.
After that, I worked on some Periodic Elemental Toa, including Osephus, Kryhall, and the Brothers in Arms. I soon won the Dark Hunter Contest (which was a good idea, though there were very few entries) with the Hand of Ancient.
Next I joined the 2012 MOCathalon... not a good idea. My team bailed a little way in- most went inactive for a week or so- and I ended up putting in eight entries (not completely awful, but pretty damn bad anyway). Don't look at those MOCs.
A bit later I went back to Bionicle, posting the Legion. At the same time I also entered the Periodic Bionicle Contest 2012 (some of my better entries were Thok, Ateveno, and Darimain). I eventually won the contest (technically; Callan never posted an entry, and we were unable to redo the final round).
Other highlights around that time include Locnor (for the start of the BCBS), Sotiro, and Finrahk.
I entered the Bio Cup 2012 as well, my first entries being Thok and Faltan. Sadly Phos knocked me out with the freakin' Krothak, that crazy seabeast.
(I also posted the Toa Kanau as well, which had been built in the early summer; not my best, but they were fun.)
Soon after all this I started to show more improvement. Norru and Tullar, Dakatar, Blackstomper, Arkvall, and Vakhaiv are some of my new-era MOCs, and some of my favorites I've built.
During this time I've amassed 267 people who've added me as a favorite; my most popular MOCs are Pirai Resurgent (143), Thok (107), and- changing as I type this- Finrahk (75). Not bad.
I've also made a lot of friends, though I'm not going to list them all for fear of leaving someone out or making this page 20% longer.
So. Here's to a great 2013, and another great year of MOCing, for myself and for everyone.
Quoting Overlord Galaxus (Instant Noodles)
I don't know what to say... But... Finger claws maybe? Since he has clawed feet and all... hold on, THIS IS JUST OVERKILL!!!!! Everything about this has blown my mind! Epic weapon too!
Hahaha, thanks Noodles! Yeah, I ran out of silver claws and figured he'd look better with none than he would with only two, LOL.
Quoting Everox Toa of Plasma
Amazing! I love when people use kanohi as chest plates- They always turn out looking amazing. THAT DRILL!! Amazing design and backstory. Just one question, how did he miss the giant hole the size of a moon in Metru Nui? :P
Haha, thanks. I'd assume he was too far away, or the route to the exit had become blocked by debris or something.

I love this guy and his epic chest!Sorry for being late to comment considering I got my account yesterday ;I do think the drill sits a little to far away from the hand and the gunmetal HF armor above the feet looks weird for some reason
Haha, no problem. Doesn't matter when you comment. That was the best I could do with the drill; which hand do you mean? There's no gunmetal on this, it's all black- must be a trick of the light. Thanks for the feedback though. :D

After looking at my entry, I think you've got me beat. I saw you post set names on LegoJang's blog. Where did you find those names? Just wondering. :)
Very nice moc. I like the color scheme, and the weapon. Also, I have discovered the "meaning", and removed my moc. Anyways, I meant to ask, do you have a Steam account?
YEEY, he has my Self-MOC's head... kinda... not. This MOC's colors and weapon make me think of a kick-butt version or the new Brain Attack Bulk figure XD
Thanks Cody. Even better with lyrics, but I feel that some of them would not be considered MOCpages-appropriate, and I didn't want to add a PG rating just for the theme song, LOL.
Wow, you came to the pages just a little bit before I did (:/ Wierd. I like how you used that Chirox Mask for armor, and how you connected it to the body. The only part I don't like is that HF Bone down there on his leg, it seems... unnatural, for some reason. But great job, and it's great you're here on the pages. Happy New Year!
A very fitting build for your MOCiversary. The story and the build complement each other very well and that drill is a marvelous little killing machine :3 I am surprised you have only been here a year, but now that I think about it, it shouldn't as I have been watching you since you started. It's been a great year, and here's to another one eh? :)
I literally have nothing to say, I said all the good stuff in the chat, but I can't think of anything to say on MP. :/ Besides, since I'm too lay to read the story, I don't understand why you gave him that amazing drill.
Oh my... this amazing beast with that Chirox mask on his torso, those mantax shoulders, and his drill with the trans purple highlights.... :D But is your camera throwing a fit again?
Ah, so that's the MoC you had as your profile pic! And that drill... botch matches well together. The parts usages are amazing, those Barraki heads as shoulderplates work very well. Have a happy MOCiversary!
Oh man, this guy's got the right colors, bulk, and weapon to just be an amazing MOC. Those feet are wonderful, and the nice balance of the black, silver, and bright orange really maes it a well rounded MOC. Happy "One-Year-on-MOCpages"!
The armour design on this guy is something special, that's for sure. Excellent use of a lot of curious angles and curved elements, and integrating that black-to-silver blend in the plastic, too. He contrasts really well with that industrial nightmare of a weapon he has >:D Like with all of your recent MOCs, I really wish I could get my hands on this one and see how it was all done.
I think that the most... 'interesting' fact of this MOC is that you changed the overwhelming amount of parts you usually use for a MOC for a most original usage of all of them. I mean, if you compare this guy with your other entry, it's obvious that Vakhaiv uses less parts. However, the usage of those parts is better on this guy. He really looks savage, the legs have a marvelous design, but the prize of this MOC is the usage of the masks: Mantax' heads, both forms of the Shelek and the adaptative Kakama Nuva. Also, the drill has a marvelous design. Impressive, my dear Chronos! =D In the other hand, the story was cool, although it's a bit of a pain, because mine is also in the ruins of the UM (not only the one of the entry, but ALL of my story xD)... Oh, one year already? I remember when you joined, I was still new... I saw your first MOC and I said "eh, not bad. This guy is good", then I saw Pirai and I was astonished. And your career here, BANG!, launched as a rocket to the fame! One year it's the only time you needed to become one of the best BioMOCers here... Well, congratulations, and happy new year, Chronos =)
Wow. Definitely one of my favorites from you. You've definitely accomplished soooo much during you time on mocpages. You've helped soo many moccers during your time here and I'd just like to say well done on everything! You were actually the most welcoming moccer I met during my early days here and i thank you for inspiring me! From a friend, I'd just wanna say cheers on a great year and congadulations! ^.^
