new municipal garage-recycling center
introducing; mr radnick
About this creation
LACROIX;
mr richard?

RICHARD;
yes?

LACROIX;
I m sent by CENTRAL for the job...

RICHARD;
and you picked up the paper?
you re really at the right place!

RICHARD;
come on, I ll show you around,
you will work with mr radnick...

RICHARD;
ever been in Cybercity before?

LACROIX;
heu, no, I heard about it...

RICHARD;
things have changed recently, since the attack, mr richmond
has invested money in the city, police -fire station,
new experimental firefighting equipment...

RICHARD;
speaking of fire, this is the main water acces for fires,
all industrial buildings in Cybercity have that,
it s pretty fire-safe here.

LACROIX;
ok,

RICHARD;
this is the exit only access door, don t let anyone enter here,

LACROIX;
you got it.

RICHARD;
I have to warn you about mr radnick...
he s particular, we ve had...trouble finding help.

LACROIX;
how so?

RICHARD;
he looks a little weird, he s ...special,

LACROIX;
mr richard, honnestly, after the conditioning center,
nothing will make me quit this job...
...and, I m hard to impress.

RICHARD;
I just wanted you to be prepared, that s all.

LACROIX;
it s ok, really, I m above such jugements.

RICHARD;
ok, here we will see some changes in the future...

RICHARD;
there will be a bridge for the cranes here,
but the CARGO FREIGHT must be re-done,
to fit this new facility s size,
and for the future 8' wide cargo train.

RICHARD;
the road train can t be used without it,

RICHARD;
as this is the corridor we use to load-unload it.
we use the roofs for storage, the panels are defined by yellow zones,
and they slide to access inside.

LACROIX;
road train?

RICHARD;
yes, Cybercity makes money ridding other cities
their garbage, and recyclables.

LACROIX;
I did nt know that.

RICHARD;
in the back of the building, you have the roof access ladder,
you ll notice that the crane does nt need an operator anymore,
we control it with camera from inside now.

LACROIX;
cut backs? how long can I expect to work here?

RICHARD;
depending on mr radnick...

LACROIX;
I told you, no problem!

RICHARD;
I ve heard it before...
here is the entry access, all vehicles enter here,
NO ONE BACKS UP, ok?

LACROIX;
I ll remember that.

RICHARD;
watch it, there is not much police force since the attack...
people take liberties...

LACROIX;
you can say that again,
Id never see that in GLOBO...
in front of the police station...incredible!

RICHARD;
yes, and if they are residents of the city, they are covered with medicare,

LACROIX;
free hospital?

RICHARD;
yeah, the mayor ordered that, he s very insistent about it.

LACROIX;
no wonder he s elected,

RICHARD;
nothing to do with it...
this is the lab, and your suit.

RICHARD;
over there are barels of chemicals for dissolution of material

RICHARD;
there! we can finally get rid of those papers,

RICHARD;
dump it in the orange container.

LACROIX;
ok.

RICHARD;
see how it works,

RICHARD;
the orange container slides under the vacuum...

RICHARD;
wich sucks all that s inside!

LACROIX;
it s that simple?

RICHARD;
no, but, I ll explain later.

RICHARD;
here is the garage bay for repairs, and maintenance.

LACROIX;
can we do my car? lol.

RICHARD;
it would nt fit on the plate.
here riccardo shows how we get to repair underneath the vehicles.

RICHARD;
this is my office, next, are the 2 guys you ll get to work with,
martin, and paul, they pack the new raw material for resale.

LACROIX;
hi guys!

BOTH;...

RICHARD;
they can t work until mr radnick powers up the reactor.

LACROIX;
can t wait to meet him...

RICHARD;
this is the cafeteria, most of us get lunch at the hotel.

LACROIX;
the hotel? you re rich or something?

RICHARD;
no, as city employee, it s a mayor benefit.

LACROIX;
wow! I m dreaming!

RICHARD;
this is the storage bay, we allow all the 2nd floor for it,

RICHARD;
some, like the fire hydrants, are the water facility care, but, storage is here,
same for electrical equipment, telephones, ect.

RICHARD;
for coffee and tv, the cafeteria ain t so bad,
meet sebastien, and jimmy!

JIMMY;
do you run fast?

SEBASTIEN;
lol.

RICHARD;
do t do jokes guys!
it s not funny anymore...
this is mr radnick s office,

LACROIX;
why the wheels up there?

RICHARD;
the sliding roof system, but, it s mainly for the crane,
and we have no bridge yet, I ll post it when it s done!

RICHARD;
and this will be your post, over there.

LACROIX;
it s written; no entry, shall I put my suit on?

RICHARD;
no, there is no danger here, and the unit is off-line.
you will only need it to assist...

LACROIX;
the famous mr radnick...

RICHARD;
this will be your work station,
and while I know nothing about the transmuting device,
I do know about traditional technology about recycling,
once the material is in the system, it is sorted in groups...

RICHARD;
when the green light is lit,
it means that the container is full, it can be disolved in the wheel looking
reservoirs wich are turning like a dryer

RICHARD;
the sorting system is encased in the device with a 1!

RICHARD;
material is either acheived to the nuclear transmuter,

RICHARD;
or if it needs more reffining or processing it goes up on the roof system.

RICHARD;
some rapid spining shredders reduce the hardest materials to bits in seconds,
and dissolved with water and natural solvents.

RICHARD;
'new' raw material comes out on this conveyor as brown paste,
we pack it, and sell it to manufactures.

LACROIX;
interesting.

RICHARD;
you ll get to see a little action, the garbage truck is dumping right now!

RICHARD;
in the orange container...

RICHARD;
and then the vaccum...

RICHARD;
you wondered about the robots?

LACROIX;
yeah, a little I guess.

RICHARD;
you ll get a demonstration now!

RICHARD;
the robots dissasemble a car in minutes,

RICHARD;
they salvage the parts for re-sale on other planets,
that s how it is most profitable.

RICHARD;
you ll notice that they don t even dent the parts.

RICHARD;
it s another way to profit from cleaning the planet.
but, we better get to the bus stop,
mr radnick should arrive any minute now!

RICHARD;
LOOK OUT!
be watchfull of the street gangs...

LACROIX;
just what is this place?

RICHARD;
no real danger, the street gangs don t attack residents,
but, they bring the fight here often enough!

RICHARD;
ah! it s mr radnick at last!

LACROIX;
it s him? he takes the bus?

RICHARD;
yes, he can t drive, although it s been 2 weeks he s been working here,
I still can t feel him very well...

LACROIX;
he wears his suit on the bus?

RICHARD;
...yeah, well... you ll understand...

and then...

RICHARD;
mr radnick...

LACROIX;
mr radnick, I ve heard so much about...

MR RADNICK;
NUCLEAR IS SAAAAAFE!

LACROIX;
AAAAH! he s no man!...he s a MONSTERRRRR!

RICHARD;
I told you not to do this anymore!

MR RADNICK;
he, he, he, I m sorry,
I have no life!

CREATOR S LOG;

well, the recycling center is done!
now, the cargo train, the station, freight depot...

Il me faudra un siecle pour les lire toutes. --- Incredible! You are a fantastic story teller ... maybe a bit long! Anyway it was good fun to read it and appreciate all details of your build. It will take me a century if I want to go through all your creations! --- So now you (all) can laugh for my terrible French and English as well!

Cyberfrank. As always, your narrative approach is very detailed. This is an astounding amount of detail, all laid out in a very well sequenced and logical fashion. You really do show us more than MOCs. You show us systems, characters, and entire stories. All photographed perfectly and of course... a perfect punch line at the end. It's really "Rad" (Heh heh).

Wow, nice story and some really spectacular detail work. Did you do a lot of research on how a recycling center is laid out or did you just place random dials and such until it looked right. Doubt my LEGO Town will ever get a plant like this, guess I will have to ship it to Rokenbok land, lol! Great job on this, you make some really amazing stuff.

Very cool part of Cybercity! I like the story to go with it! BTW I have a proposal.....well your city is on a planet....In the future and in the future of Lightning city...they would explore new worlds....so I thought we could work together and Chris, and all the others would visit Cybercity....you don't have to except if you don't want to but....it would be cool!

This is really impressive, as is the rest of your city - you've really crammed the details and playability in here. Love the colour scheme and design of this building, but I'm blown away by the amount of effort you've put in to 'the workings' and interior - brilliant MOC - I look forward to seeing your city evolve further!

Quoting Nils O. I understand! I m so sorry being goofy like that with the pc! I feel insecure, and feel to save all the time, as I lost writtings before doing my posts, so sorry! @ allan; my buildings are so big now, I could nt buy them in one stroke without a loan, lol! @ paul; depending on material, they don t always need to be shredded, that s why I put it on the roof, if I ever redo it, I ll consider this remanagement, thanks! @ cody; thanks cody! I might introduce them sometime in the new alta-5 season!

  December 27, 2012
Quoting cyberfrank 2010 it s nice how you filed your creations, it s a breeze going trough your portfolio, congrats cody! just who are these black cravens? I kind of like them! they look like general vartok s men, but, yellow skin instead of green, I could possibly reproduce them on alta-5, I ll check to know more about them! nicely done, and intriguing.
Thanks for the kind words! It's been a really long time since I built those vignettes, but I think that the Black Ravens were kind of a sci-fi gang, probably involved in arms smuggling or something of the like. Feel free to use the name, I'm probably not going to expand on them anytime soon. What with college going on and most of my Lego energy focused on my Bionicle storyline, I don't have time for much else. Good luck, I'll definitely follow any stories you can make with those guys!

Hehe.. I like that face mr. radnick has! And the amount of thought put into the process. A very nice tour of the premises with good explanations of the details and functions along the way too. Would be a great tour guide if this fine build was available as a set :-) Nice street scene too!

Hi Frank, there is one more thing: I hope you are not offended, as I really like your creations, but I will remove you from my list of favourite builders. You are just so active here on MOCpages that my activity list is like "spammed" with your comments. Right now on the first 5 pages of my activity list more than 90% of the comments are yours. This way I don't really notice what my other favourite builders are writing :-// Sorry for that, but I'll keep on checking for your stuff... In fact your creations are really good stuff! :-))

thanks a lot, and mc [merry christmas] everyone! comments, observations suggestions, all welcome! @ sebeus; lol, now, it s you who read my mind, I tought about including liu s universe into alta-5, lightly, 1 year ago when lugdo was gone, I felt he should not be forgetten, and what I chose to pick in his collection was sound for stories, I lately asked him to do it, but, he still did nt answered, I understand his hesitation, as I am also careful about my universe, it s all about inspiration, if it s messed up, c est la fin... @ tris; you can already have a taste of it now, as the old version is posted already, it won t be that different, it will only be a couple of layers highier, and arches more wide to allow the trains to clear.
 I like it
  December 26, 2012
Tis lovely to get a tour of the depot, my favourite bit was where the train goes in, although if your freight train is also to be made 8 wide it wont fit anymore. It is a very thorough creation and if, as it will be, your station is created along similar lines, I cant wait to see it.
