The precursor to the Cosmic Fleet Voyager, the LL-768 Deep Space Exploration Vessel, commonly called the "D-Sev", was the first large ship built specifically for the purpose of orbital and atmospheric research of planets. Outfitted with numerous satellites and antennas, the scanning capacity is far greater than even the LL-928 Galaxy Explorer. The cabin also has a number of computers. Entry is gained through the roof, which is an unorthodox design, but having the back hinge open would have been difficult to manage with the centered engines.
