An XQ series space platform from the old TIE Fighter video game.

About this creation

I'm feeling lazy today so I am not going to say much. I have been inspired by the new X-wing Miniatures Game by Fantasy Flight Games, and have looked back fondly on the old X-wing and TIE fighter video games from LucasArts. I decided I wanted to build a space platform for those games, and here it is.

This is the first time I really employed the technique of scratch builds. I built a really micro version first, then a size up, and then the big one after I got the hang of the building techniques needed for the three-armed platform.

I added a little Assault Transport on the landing pad just for scale. Actually, I'm not even sure what the scale is. It's definitely bigger than the TIE Fighter version, but I hear they made the platforms bigger in X-wing: Alliance. This is definitely one of the bigger platforms.

And here they are all together.
