Please excuse my bad write-up. I´ve be up all night (´til 6 o´clock), editing the pictures without motivation to check my spelling. Just enjoy the pics! ~Marc
About this creation
Originating from a place known to all GAIA people as the 'Forgotten Worlds', only very little is known about Katharina's past. Only the scars and the titan plate on her forehead show the obvious. Times must have been pretty hard and Kat did not only one time barely survive searching for artifacts and upgrades, buried in the ruins of once so prosperous worlds! Until the day, she had all the parts together to complete the hyperdrive on her always dependable 'Diamondback'. Combined with the space maps, Kat found in a pirate tech lab, she managed to escape her post apocalyptic home on a safe route.
But, did she really find a better world? ...

Althogh nature has reconquered most of the devasted territories, you should not get fooled by their beauty.
Most areas are still higly contaminated by radiation, or biolgical hazards.

You can easily forget all your sorrows with such a view!

But, in the forgotten worlds you should stay sharp, nevertheless.

If it's not mother nature that kills you,...

... or some space anomaly.

Maybe some pirates hunt you down and sell you to a fat corrupt space cop as bribe?!
'NO! This won´t happen! Time to get out of here and run the hyperdrive!'

The system worked perfectly, even without a larger test phase.

But the welcome wasn´t what Katharina was expecting.
Shortly after her arrival she found herself shooting for her life - AGAIN!
Didn´t she leave home for right the opposite?

After shooting down that scary looking, black ship with a female skeleton tied to its front, she felt a bad feeling overcoming her.
What if life here wasn´t much better than in the Forgotten Worlds?

A few hours later a non hostile carrier ship picked her up. People there told her that she had just killed a Draggone scout. And that most one on one encounters end up with the Draggone winning! A hostile reptilian race wanting to kill every human in the galaxy.
Aboard the ship everyone was amazed that she did survive in a far more than 90 years old fighter. Everbody knew the famous Anaconda!
But, as the techs looked closer, they realised that this ship had only the shape of an Anaconda.
The frame and armour were extremely reinforced, the computer systems upgraded and much more capable than on some recent GAIA fighters. Two 'Dark Matter Reactors' were nistalled inside the wings, providing the ship with an almost inexhaustible power supply.
It had also received more powerful weapon systems:
- two altered pulse lasers (former mining lasers)
- two missile launchers
- three high speed mass acclerator guns

Katharina made a decision. She joined the GAIA! The thought of fighting for something more than your next breakfast was a very welcome one for her.

And the GAIA was short of competent pilots these days!

So, she layed off her old space suit and put on the GAIA uniform.

Long live GAIA!

That's a great looking ship, superb shape, and great presentation as always!
Thanks fot the comment Jon! Well, when you can´t come up with something big, you need to present it big, at least! |

Cool, normally I don't really care for "Space"stuff, but I really like this one. The cockpit is very good. Makes me want to build one!
Thanks, and go for it! I'd really like to see the result. ~Cheers |

hahaha, I love this! Good ole forgotten, forgotten worlds, lol. Love that she ends up on a GAIA hangar and joining up, and the strange FW's tech. Go Katherine! The fighter has a wonderful colour scheme also, makes that slick design really pop.
Hehe. Forgotten, indeed! I´v built this one for the FW group, hmmm, ~a year ago. And it was truly forgotten. In a box. Until I moved house and had to unpack a lot of boxes and voilá! As for the colours, I played a little pimp my flight. ;-) Glad you like it! ~Cheers |

Impressive stuff! I love it when an older ship is fixed up and becomes better than most new ships. Nice work!

I guess the new trend for GAIA speciality figters is that they come with fangs attached for that extra special touch! I guess we will have keep things going til Parr gets back on-line. Long live GAIA!
Hehe, it seems so. Of course we'll do our best to keep things running! I was hoping I was not too late, so that Parr would still be able to have a look at this. Anyways, thanks and long live GAIA! |

Fantastic! Stunning story, and awesome design.
Most i like the use of rare colours and printed bricks. Also Kat looks a bit agressive...
Sadly, printed bricks seem to become pretty rare these days. I'm sure Kat still has some love inside her - somewhere! Thank you for the nice comment! ~Marc |

Great story bud, really intense!!! Please write more. I really enjoyed your photo editing as well not to mention the fire fight. Keep it up bud and nice to see you back.
Thanks Pete. Finally, I've been able to successfully fight my laziness and kick my arse to the computer. I had this baby built more than a year ago and almost forgot about it.
Good to hear that the writing wasn't bad at all. Always wanted to do a story MOC, but part limitations prohibit that... ~Marc |

That's one wicked fighter, Doc! The fangs are a great detail. Looks a little like a Mark VII Viper, I'd say, with some serious modifications. Deadly!
Thanks, Mav! Yeah, somehow I like fighters with fangs - some extra fear factor. Oh, can't wait for the BSG NC Xmas episode! ~Marc |
