Here's my extensive update of my old Ferrari F2012. The 2012 F1 season has come to an end and I thought I'd better post this before the year is over.
About this creation
Ferrari is my favourite team on the grid - what would Formula One be without them? And with my two favourite drivers Alonso and Massa :)
A pity that lucked-out kid Vettel beat Alonso to the championship by the hair of his teeth. Again...
I have lengthened the wheelbase by one stud - what a difference it makes!
The sidepods were also re-shaped.
There are many more lego Ferrari F1 cars compared any other team cause the colour scheme is so easy to replicate... red red red RED RED and more red and possibly some white
A very (sadly) diffuser-less rear end. I found it nearly impossible to add one, what with the way the rear wing is attached
Looking down from this cloud we are sitting on we can see that an entire minifig fits in! Pretty squeezy though.
If you look closely at the rear axle below you can see my feeble attempt to make suspension arms.
Now all we need is a pit crew to complete the picture....
The most satisfying change I made is that The Rear Wing No Longer Needs A Vertical Support In The Middle! There Is A Nice Big Hole!
And the back tapers nicely into a one-stud-wide tail!
Halfway through the season, Ferrari painted the (new for 2012 regs) side exhaust area black, so my car has adapted...
I really don't get the fuss over the stepped nose... I think it complements the whole look. An F1 car won't be an F1 car (or look like one) if form didn't follow function!
Now FIA is mandating nose covers (NOSE COVERS? can you believe it!) for 2013. bleh!
and some random parting shots....
I painted the tires with the red Pirelli branding. Super-softs FTW!
Great work!
But I think the car you built is too heavy, i don't know if you can understand, it's a italian expression!
Anyhow, let's see my one Ferrari F2012 here! http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/328869
