Having set-up with David Roberts the Classic Space Pocket Money contest, I was feeling the pain of not being able to enter my own contest. So I thought I'd get a bit of weekend CS fun in. Here are two quickly built little rovers.

I like it!! the wheels are awesome... :D wheels wheels and wheels... hehehe...
the second one is really cool.. it looks like a flame thrower buggy, but i know it is probably a laser digger... :D but what i think, both of it are awesome... especially the wheels... :D |

Yes! I love the surfeit of wheels and rotating cab of the grey rover. I also like the control panels on the back of the cab, though they might be tough to get too. Then again gravity is low on the moon! The red buggy looks great too. The detector/drill thingy on the arm is, to me, a classic bit of Classic Space playability where it's up to whoever is playing with the buggy to decide its function. Finally, what a cute little robot :) |

Haha, the abundance of wheels on that first one made me smile! Love the red on that second rover, and the drill thing is really sweet! Good stuff! |

Quoting Senator Chinchilla .
Needs more wheels, this. I mean really, 18 just isn't enough! =P The red one is very nice, though. I like the Classic bricks and the buggy stance.
I was just riffing off this design, and pushing things a little bit further ( http://www.brickset.com/detail/?Set=6880-1) |

ha ha!! Excellent!! The little red one has such a touch!! Indeed, they perfectly fit the CS feel. Both are original, make me think about sets released in the mid-end 80's.
Thanks Marc. The grey one is certainly based in the 85 or 86 ranges. |

Quoting LEGO Family
Haha ... The grey one is just weird ... Reminds me of a probe of some kind ... Now the horror of it is minifigs size ..... Could they themself be behind all the nightmare stories told by humans who claims to have been kidnapped by aliens ?? ... :P
Could be. Or is it simply an automated prison cell? |

I can t help it...it always make me laugh when I see this happening, and it s so easy that it does too, a fig s face is nt aligned with it s helmet, lol! I don t know why, its funnier with those, ok, I really like the 1rst, although, I d love to see what 2 cannons 1 each side, would look, pretty goodI guess, I love the design, all these wheels looks fab!
the red is also very interesting and beautiful, seems functionnal and operationnal as equipment, very cool stuff!
That misalignment was intentional, honestly, he's looking over his shoulder. Lol. |

I have to say that both of these pass the playability test, with my two and a half year old son happily rolling them around the floor with minimal breakage. |

The droid was a favourite of mine, a classic example of table scrap serendipity. |
