The USS Monitor was the Union's response to the Confederate ironclad ship, USS Virginia. Launched from the East River, New York in 1862, the Monitor was sailed down to Norfolk to meet the Virginia, which had been terrorizing the Union Navy along the coast. After a 2 day battle in which little was accomplished, the skirmish was considered a tactical draw, and both vessels went on their merry way. The Monitor its self was a revolutionary design. It featured numerous patentable inventions, and utilized a rotating tower, which contained two cannons. The Monitor represented the beginning of modern naval warfare for the union.

Wow, I wasn't exspecting you to make any civil war creations, you don't see them very often. Anyway, I am pleasently surprised, and it turned out great. :) |

That is a fun ship with a tough shape. I'm glad to see that you have adapted it so well with LDD. |

Sorry I didnt see this sooner, Ive mainly been doing only halo 4. I like it. Could be better with a white background, but it still would take a lot of added time to post.
Iorn clads are something I always wanted in minifigure scale lego on my shelf, along with a U boat.

Awesome. Will you be making the Merrimack? Would love to see this in real bricks.

I'm sure I could get around to building the Merrimack, but don't expect to see it too soon. |
