I love how you implemented technic pieces and swords for the wings and tail, that's something i'm not good at. |

A very impressive eagle design. I'd love to see it in actual bricks sometime! :) |

Marvelous! A fine balance between detail and playability- I can see this working perfectly with minifigure scale environments! Minifigure Gandalf looks like just the right size.
I'm not familiar with the parts you used to make the feathers on the wings and tail- I'll have tcheck them out!
Thanks for you thoughtful comment. The parts used are 99012: Rotorblad 8m and 98137: Blade 10m w/0.3. I'm not sure if that helps. I seriously doubt they both actually come in dark brown, but I'll bet they could be found in some combination of complimentary colors, or in the worst case scenario custom painted.

Quoting claw paradox
wow, very accurate! my only piece of advice would be to make the head a hair less wide.
I did fuss over this particular aspect (and there is a reason why there aren't many shots of it from dead ahead), but in the end it was a question of striking a balance between realism to the object, and realism to the structural integrity and parts availability of the legos. If you can think of a way to slim it down, or at least make it appear slimmer, then you are welcome to use the .lxf file attached to play with it and let me know what you find. |

Outstanding work! My son recognized them immediately, yelling at me that they looked like the Great Eagles from LOTR!! :)
Well, good! At least he didn't mistake it for a flying badger, that would have been really embarrassing for me! :D |

this looks amazing! you captured a really good natural/organic look... ;-)
Thank, Mihe, that is the obsession that drives me ever since I started looking at MOC pages: more organic, more fluid, closer to real life. When I see a build and it blows my mind how a shape was achieved I get all excited. Your Nostromo is a perfect example by the way. |
