Again, thanks for your thoughtful comments. I love those ball joints, they are so handy! I just wish they had more available connector types to go with the sockets. Those selfsame color constraints keep me coming back to LDD. I like the freedom to work with the colors without having to own as many LEGOs as Nannan!

I must say, this model is brilliant in its mixture of technic ball joint elements and traditional system parts- I particularly like the double layered design of the wings, and even the specialized head piece looks like it fits. Nice work! I can imagine the kind of playability this would offer, if only color constraints weren't an issue.

Possibly, although the design may be subject to some color and brick availability constraints in ABS. I recently built something from real bricks for the first time in over a year which I will post soon. Also I have a house in escrow with space for a lego workshop! In short, you can probably expect to see some more real brick creations soon, but I will probably still design a lot with LDD since I like using it, it is less expensive, and I can put any available color on any available brick.
