Car Accident for The Vignette Contest
For a contest about vignettes. Aptly named, of course.
About this creation
The Vignette Contest

Having never built anything with size restrictions, I may have gone a bit overboard here... sorry.

I started out building the car, which is some sort of 1920's tin can assembly. I quickly realized the car itself was 12 studs long, the limit being a 12x12 stud base.

Nevermind that, I found a way to squeeze all the goodies over a 12x12 footprint.*

Except most of the tree.... =(

The side view, now with complimentary sides.

The frog our dear driver was swerving so desperately to avoid.

A car from 1920, with dual exhaust. Logic.

I decided to use good ol' geometry to solve the problem of the 13x12 scene I made, and put it on... an angle! *Dun dun dun*

Thanks for viewing!

the scene is very nice, but the pic that shoes the wheel in suspention is my fav! as it s like an action pic! really cool! your trick with the benches would have done wonders on this scene, with the car at an angle!

A cool vintage model combined with a very clever way to convert a 12x13 base into a 12x12 vignette! Very clever and very good looking plus clever parts usage of the megaphones. Great job! :-))

This is quite clever, and love the way you had to turn it on an angle to fit into the size cap.

If it had been green it would have just sqwished it! But, hey, it's yellow and perhaps some kind of endangered tree frog?! Nice! :)

Very nice! While the steam is nice, I'd like to have seen more damage to the car it self.

Aye,man, this looks really sweet. Love the car and the realism of the situation. The car reminds me of Dylan Denton's profile picture. Very nice, man! :D Cool idea with the frog.

This is very simple, but captivating. The car almost looks cute, and the bent fender made me chuckle. The way you have trivialized this scene, while humorous, captures the essence of what a vignette is: a snapshot of life. Good luck in the contest!

Great fun and a nice wee car. I scrolled through the photos wondering why the frog was there, so I'm glad you explained its presence (I'm a bit slow on the uptake this evening!).

I think it's for fail, although I nearly did something similar with a deer and a guardrail...

Very good, three stars for the vehicle, the fourth for the really ingenious 13 to 12 solution (13*13 to 12*12 was even more spectacular, :-) ) the road itself is a bit 'empty'.
