This first photo is a close-up of our hero, Sir Moc, back from a successfully completed mission for the Kingdom of Buildalot. He kneels before his king, King Ole.
Sir Moc smiles, kneeling before King Ole. This was my first time experimenting with "flexible figs." I had always found them to be a bit silly, since forced perspective takes a huge part in such poses. But Sir Moc here looks great from almost any angle.
Like I said, Sir Moc's pose looks great from all angles.
A little blurry, but this is the entire MOC from the front.
A close-up of the stained glass window. It took me forever to find a pattern I was reasonably okay with. I'm still nto 100% pleased with it, but it looks okay.
A side view without the figures. As you can most likely count, it is 8x12 with no overhang at all.
A complete view of the stained glass.
Another side view, this time with the side table and chalice in full view.
This is King Ole and the parts that I used to make him sitting realistically.
This is Sir Moc and the parts I used to make him kneeling realistically. As you can see, I used the right legs of two conquistadors. This was to make the kneel more aesthetically pleasing.
THE KNEELING TUTORIAL:
I used red here to match the carpet, but you can use whatever color matches the floor you are kneeling on. The grey piece is for Sir Moc's left buttock.
The foot fits comfortably between studs and sticks. No forcing is required.
The placement of the other leg.
TA-DAA! A kneeling LEGO minifigure.
THE SITTING TUTORIAL:
This is how I made King Ole sit. Pretty generic position. I used a light brown piece only because it isn't visible and I don't have any dark brown 1x2's that I am aware of.
King Ole's body...
...and his legs!
A close up of the flags. I know I have red flags, but I built this last night an my family was asleep. I didn't want to make too much noise digging through my LEGO bins... ;)
A close-up of the table... with chalice!
All in all, I am very pleased with this. I haven't seen this kneeling technique used anywhere else. If you have, please let me know!
