Astro Viper
The Astro Viper is the custom space scout craft of the intrepid Starly VanNova, aka "Intergalactic Girl."
About this creation
Thank you for checking out my Lego creation! When I got the Intergalactic Girl collectible minifig I was inspired to create a suitable spaceship for her. I tried my best to blend elegance with a sense of utility that fit in with the Classic Space vein. And in this case I settled on a color scheme along the lines of Chris Gidden's vision of Pre-Classic Space. Once I decided on the cockpit style and engines everything kind of fell into place. As I was preparing to post photos, it occured to me that the overall design fell into the "Vic Viper" category and, being NovVember, I decided to dub it the "Astro Viper." Overall it was a fun little build.

Head on view of the sleek and nimble Astro Viper.

Semi-rear view. The engine interior build is all clear 1 x 1 headlight bricks with 1 x 1 glow in the dark round plates. While it lights up very nicely I could not get a photo that did it justice.

An overhead view.

The trans pink engine exhaust is the only part of the ship that has a color consistent with Intergalactic Girl's spacesuit.

The underside is very simple and with no landing gear. The ship nicely balances on the two 1 x 1 round bricks in the centerline, giving the effect of hovering.

The cramped cockpit is very spartan. Eventually if I find the right stickers for controls and monitor screens then I'll apply them to the inner walls.

Intergalactic Girl sits freely with no studs to secure her legs down. Instead, she holds the control handles situated on a 1 x 2 hinge. So when I tilt the controls up she comes along and is easy to remove.

Intergalactic Girl standing proudly in front of her spaceship. With her long flowing blonde hair and determined look, the name Starly VanNova seemed to be appropriate.

This looks similar to something I built years ago, though I think that this looks much better. You've really got a knack for color schemes.

Quoting Matt Hanson I saw the name and almost couldn't believe it...you're alive! Great to have you post with us again. Oh, and sweet little fighter! - I'm sure Starly appreciates it. - Matt
Thanks Matt. I'm always building but just don't do a lot of posting. When I finally do post it's usually a backlog of models I've had sitting on the side.

Quoting Senator Chinchilla . Not a Vic Viper per-say(missing the single vertical fin), but an epic spaceship in it's own right. Very nice, smooth lines and plenty of greeblies. I like the side engines and color combo.
Thanks. Yes, my Blacktron Raptor is closer to a true Vic Viper.

Quoting Darren Taylor This is superb! I would have probably used the Spaceman minifig for a colour match otherwise I would have done some pink detailing for the Intergalactic Girl. However, that doesn't take anything away from me really liking this!
Thanks Darren. Unfortunately my supply of pink and magenta parts is very limited.

It looks great! Not to bulky and not to sleek! I'm a great fan of your work!

A nice, clean design, that has lots of greeblie bits too: a difficult balance to achieve! I like the hinging cockpit controls and the simple but effective greebles on the back of the craft. Great work!
