Circa 4800 AD, the Pandora was a war plane designed to fly at super high altitude and monitor planetary orbits. Equipped with the necessary firepower to do so, it was charged with shooting down any unwelcome objects orbiting or preparing to enter atmosphere.
Though several types were released over the years, they all failed to reach vacuum capability, this feat being achieved by a human fighter for the first time by the 'Condor' almost a thousand years later.
Still, these birds kept human skies safe for centuries. Oddly, it gets a technical classification as a GAIA fighter due to an unlikely call to service on the cash strapped planet of Abaxus prime. A French colonial world, the locals had always taken pride in their well stocked war museum filled with lovingly restored war machines of yesteryear. When the Alien War broke out so too did the ancient the Pandora/Orbital Defense Fighter.
High up in the night sky, this pilot almost thinks he is in space!
I like the design and the compactness of this little fighter. It reminds me of certain Stealth projects. Cool stuff here!! BTW, thank you for your comment, I really do appreciate for I am a padah-wan builder... :)
You got yourself a sweet little warbird here my friend and her lines make you feel she could be a real jet already in service today! By the way, I just finished adding the text to "The Wolf's Fangs." It wasn't up when you got to look at it just a bit ago. Feel free to take a second look when you get the chance. Hopefully it adds some character to the overall story.
very cool little plane/space ship! I could imagine a squad of them sitting on a carrier ship of either planet based or space based :) i hate to bother but by any chance do you have either instruction info or an LDD file?? would love to build a squad or two of them :)
I like how you've used some of the main elements back-to-front what people would normally expect, i.e. the canopy and the parts that make the top of the intakes. The fighter-jet shape feels quite retro to me and particularly reminds me of the Gloster Javelin.
