AMS-003A Firebird
Aerial-type Mobile Suit used by the East Asian League.
About this creation
The Firebird is an aerial-type Mobile Suit used by the East Asian League . It is capable of self-sustained atmospheric flight. It is not heavily armored, with areas being stripped down or completely removed to make the Mobile Suit much lighter. Its only armament are the hand-carried autocannons.

The Firebird in flight mode.

The back of the Mobile Suit. The twin main thrusters can move independently of each other. Each wing also features moving flight surfaces for control.

The wings are also able to move separately from the main thrusters.

The back of the lower legs features additional thrusters.

The "feet" retract for flight and only extend when landing at the Mobile Suit's base of operations for storage. As such, a weakness is that the Firebird cannot engage in direct ground combat.

The head of the Firebird. It is ZAKU influenced with some weird twist that I have no clue where it came from.

Shown are the main armaments, the spare magazines, and the cockpit design, which is influenced by the Helios Red Ivy by Sylphion.

The cockpit opens to reveal the interior.

A pose of the Firebird in action.

*Twitch's Remarks*
The frame comes from Mithryl , and the weapons come from his Commando-type Ancient Mecha. Thanks for viewing!

Quoting Builder Allan Cool! Very nice design. Good work on the functional details too :-) I would agree the cockpit could use a bit of work though. Perhaps by mounting the cover on a rocker stone above the pilot, to let it swing outwards and up upon opening?
Thanks! I am happy with how I made the wings and engines work. Considering I have a lot of aviation experience, that did make it somewhat easier to design them. I saw the cockpit design from the Helios Red Ivy, and knew exactly what I wanted to do with it since it was a somewhat aerodynamic design.

Quoting Sylphion - I'm really flattered that someone actually uses part of my MOCs! Great work! Though the top half of the unit's torso could use some work, the cockpit looks a little mismatched if you can understand what I'm trying so say
I see what you mean, but the intended look is supposed to be "stripped down" so that it could be lighter weight. I went with this since it has to be capable of self-sustained atmospheric flight.
