AvP Universe: We’re all familiar with the Alien and Predator movies/comics/novels and so on. Here’s your task, build us something from that Universe. It does NOT have to include an alien or predator (it can if you wish) but it must be something that could be set in that universe. Anything from an Alien Hive to a microscale version of “The Betty” (the pirate ship from Alien: Resurrection). The choice is yours.
About this creation
For the 2012 Mocolympics
I am competing against George G.

I didn't know much about AvP when I got the category. I have watched Aliens before, but that was it. When I saw the iconic look of a predator, I knew I wanted to build one.

The hardest part of the mask was making it as 3 dimensional as possible.
The costume can be worn, with difficulty.
I remain unconvinced that I look good in it.
Most of the weight of the mask is on my lower lip which got tiresome very swiftly.
I built the mask first, but I had a few days left, so I went for the shoulder armor. Then I spent quite some time trying to nail the necklace full of diverse alien skulls.

I also built the Predator wrist blade.

Yeah, it works better if you kind of squint.

This is the only dead alien trophy that I really liked.

I also ran out of white tiles in case you hadn't noticed.

My mentality for the last couple rounds has been to go out with style. I hope I've built something worthy of round 5. I can't wait to see what George will come up with. I've had a longer run in the Mocolympics than I thought I would and I think it has made me work hard to live up to the Elite Eight standards. Thanks to my brother who helped with critique as well as clipping me in for the picture.

Soli Deo Gloria

Hey, Sir Balamorgineas. (What do people call you for short?) I was wondering if you're planning on joining the Mocathalon this year. If you are, it would be great to have you on my team. I've sent you an invitation, if you're interested.

Hey Sir Balamorgineas, I'd like to personally apologize to you and all the other contestants for dropping off the face of MOCpages when I was supposed to be judging. With family obligations and near-finals homework and projects, I completely neglected the MocOlympics, and for that I'm sorry. Luckily, Kelso and Moodswim were able to help out! Thanks for playing!

Thanks, Cody. I'm glad you've been my judge for the first rounds. I've respected your input ever since my first creation here on Mocpages.

Unlucky buddy, you played well and created an awesome entry! Hopefully we can have a rematch next year :) And it would be so cool if you could now make a wearable Alien head....

*Note* The head cheese, Mr. Phipson, has asked if I would step in as a replacement judge in a couple of matchups - this happens to be one of those. So, let's get this party started...Excellent work. As I mentioned in George's comment section, organic forms are very challenging in Lego. This was immediately recognizable, and I liked the forms created for the face, and the effects of the textures in the shoulder guards. Having said that, I still feel like George's gutsy (or foolish - it's a fine line ;) stab at the Nostromo was extremely successful. His excellent work with the complex angles and the challenging structural support put him over the top for me. Another very close round, but here my vote goes...juuuuust barely...to your opponent.

Definitely the toughest match to judge. You actually wearing the costume was way-impressive, but my vote goes to George this round. His ship was just a bit more compositionally solid, though again, the entries are very different, and tricky to compare. Nice work!

this was the hardest match-up for me to judge, the fact that you got the dimensions right so you could wear this creation in the end was the deciding factor. You have my vote!

This is really cool, it was a though choice but you have my vote, great job

Wow, I think this'll be a close one! It looks bad as, (in a good way) have you tried freaking people out with it at night? :)

Wow, that's very accurate and fun! good idea to make it wearable and to add as much elements as you could. I like the trophies idea too but they are very hard to spot on the photos... That's a tough one to judge, good luck to you!

Really neat, instantly recognisable and very well executed. I love the extra touches with the shoulder armour, the wrist blade and the trophies. Well done and good luck with the rest of your judges.

Sorry mate I gave my vote to George. You did a really good job with an extremely difficult subject but he JUST got over the line for me. I have a feeling this will be a very close call. Best of luck with the other judges!

Aw yeah, this is great. After building a mask in round 2 I appreciate the time and effort you must have put into this. The 'hair' is fantastic, and I see your waterfall technique coming in useful again. (Enough bricklink orders and you could do a whole chainmail shirt?) This round is too close to call, good luck with the judges!

While you surely get an A Plus for cool factor on this, my vote had to go to your opponent... but only just. Good luck with the other judges! ~ Chris.
