I've been playing around with photoshop to get the hang of what it can do and what I can do with it. I decided to do a series of Monster Movie posters from the original Universal Studios line from the 1930s and 40s as they are such classics and because Lego has turned those classic monsters into offical minifigs more than once.
Using the monsters from all sources, original Monster studios theme from early 2000, the CMF line and the most recent Monster Fighters theme I've recreated the original posters into Lego.
Minimal builds here on all of them so I don't mind if nobody can be bothered to comment. These truly are just experiments and I wont be offended if you pass on by. I plan to print them off postcard sized as they will look cool framed I think and on the wall.
And here are the original poster art I used as inspiration.
As Lego has not made any offical "Invisible Man" or "Phantom of the Opera" I don't know if I'll make those posters. If I can make a custom fig for them that I am happy with I will give them a go.
Clever, creative and original! I love the way that Dracula's cape swirls around his victim and becomes the black background. The vignettes inserted into the Creature from the Lagoon poster are great and show brilliant attention to detail. I think that the Dracula and Frankenstein posters are cleaner(less cluttered), more eye-catching designs than the originals.
