Whale Hunting
My entry for CCC X in the Winter Life category. Whales were hunted in the Middle Ages as much for their fat as for their meat. It was a dangerous hunt. One dip in the icy water meant death in few minutes, maybe few seconds. But what a reward if hunting was successful ...

Quoting Julius von Brunk That's actually a really good technique with the water effect -- I plan on doing a similar diorama with a river soon, and I just may have to borrow this method!
There's a lot of Mark Erickson behind the water technique. You should check his stuff. He is an excellent builder. Thanks for your comment.

Very, very cool! I really like the whale. I assume you did this with full knowledge that whale hunting is cruel and illegal.

Quoting Mark Erickson Great build Peter! Very realistic! :)
I'm not sure about this one. The iceberg don't look the way I wanted it to look. There is no resolution and you can't see the bricks that I used to build it. It's a case where a picture don't do justice to a MOC. By the way, your water technique was a great inspiration for this build. Thanks for your comment. I don't know how you do to respond to everyone that comment on your MOC and find the time to build but keep it up man, it's really appreciated.

Quoting The Timinater! (Moving to AUS 17th Dec.) the water is excellent, while the iceburg looks too square...
You're right. Now, it strucks me in the face. Thanks for your comment.

That whale should have breached a bit to the left ;) Fantastic build! The water lends great texture and works wonderfully with the blood (strange sentence, that). Nice boat and the iceberg (I think that's what it is) is great! All around, brilliant entry.

Poor whale. The blood in the water is a great technique and highly emotive. Like it, although in principe I'm against whale hunting.
