ADU Modular Vic Viper
NnoVVember 2012: A modular ADU (Alien Defense Unit) fighter converting into a Vic Viper.
About this creation
A tribute to Nnenn: The ADU Modular Vic Viper

This model is heavily inspired by two of Mark Stafford's original Alien Conquest models: 7066 Earth Defense HQ and 7067 Jet Copter Encounter.

Mark had the great idea of including a Vic Viper in the official set Earth Defense HQ. It even had some stickers with a Viper logo and Nnenn's name on it. I wanted to make my own ADU Viper including another idea from the Alien Conquest models.

This is the result:

And the rear view:

But hey, that's no Vic Viper, is it? No it isn't, not yet...
For a Vic Viper you need a second one, ...

... then fly in close formation, ...

... move the inner wing upwards ...

... into vertical position, ...

... fly closer ...

... and - Click! - There it is!

Now, that's a Vic Viper! :-))

The folding and combination function is the same as on the little UFOs from the 7067 Jet Copter Encounter set. I kept the middle section of this model almost unchanged and built the rest around it.

Rear view

With both wings folded upwards the fighters can be stored on a carrier. It's possible to add as many models as you wish.

And a little look inside.

Now this is my LEGO ADU Modular Vic Viper. I hope you like it :-))

Interesting. I knew something wasn't quite right about the singular models to constitute as Vic Vipers. Very ingenuitive of you.
