For Novvember I decided to work on this little ship. I don't own any space police sets, but wanted to capture something of the colour scheme.

Oh this is a very very nice looking fighter. The color scheme is fantastic, and you've done a very good job capturing that old-style Lego look! Really nice! |

Now as for my two bits about your particular Vic Viper, David, although I love the color scheme and design, the nose cones are a bit too boxy in my book. It just doesn't make sense to me aesthetically to see rounded nose cones when you have 2x2 regular bricks elsewhere on the nose sections. However, to rememdy that situation, I would recommend that you use some 2x2 cylindrical bricks which should fix the problem, though. Also, why not take some time to check out my Vic Viper? Thank you.
Thanks for the comments. Isn't it funny how two different minds work. I actually based the modulation between cylinders and right angles as one of he starting design features for this MOC. Maybe because I'm a stubborn old (ish) man now, I like to build quirky and awkward things. |

By the way: David, how do you think about judging the NnoVVember 2012 Vic Vipers in the "Owners Club"? To make it simple, each of us could name his Top 5 and then we add points, like 5 for a 1st place, 4 for a 2nd, ... 1 for a 5th place.
Yes I'd be up for that. Why not drop me an email (it's at the bottom of my home page intro) and we can sort the logistics out off forum. |

Quoting Jesse Long Actually, Nils O., it's in Space Police II colors. Space Police I was all red, white, blue, and black and their windows were red. Oops, I've mixed that up with the classic space grey/green sets from 1985 and 1986... :-// |

I'd say it as the Classic Space feel to me in all the right places. Nicely done and way better than me (I don't even have one in the works)! Keep it up. |

I really like this "proper" shaped Vic Viper. I think that some of the designs I've seen recently stretch the rules a bit too far but this one is spot on and different & interesting at the same time. I like all of the brick-built angles that you've achieved, as especially shown in the last photo. |

Excellent Viper, David! I'm trying to cram through my current project to participate in Novvember myself, but I'm starting to worry about those prospects. But back to yours. I'm going to say it's SNOT-tastic;) I love the little splashes of green, and you have really hit me in the heart with the design style. It has that highly textured look, (what others call chunky), that I strive for in my ships, and the greebling is probably the best that I've seen from you yet. The underside looks a little Jon B-inspired. That's a tough act to follow, but it looks like you were pretty successful with it. Nice work on the subtle weaponry and the piping in the rear really adds to the character. The lightweight thrusters give it the look of something that is blindingly fast. Very well done, as always, good sir. |

Great viper, nice work all round on this. Vipers are addictive, be careful :)
I'm already planning my next one :). Just placed a small Bricklink order for some orange slopes to help me on my way. |

very nice job you did here David! I think you captured the theme well! your SNOT-work is getting better and better - beautiful!
I haven't built a lot of spaceships lately, having gotten into vigs, and when the classic space thing calls rovers and rangers have been my first instinct. I really enjoyed this one, and especially crafting some chunky intakes and fuel tanks in the snot wings. |
