Finally after years I have managed to create a self-MOC I can stand by. Behold Toa Why, and revamps of my favorite sets ever: Antroz and Krika!
About this creation
Toa Why is both a strong fighter and a competent spellcaster. The fire and mystical energies at his command make him glow with eerie blue flame.

His left hand is a dreadful, searing buzz claw.
Though he doesn't need a Kanohi, thanks to overwhelming energies flowing through him, his head is protected by extension of his body armor.

And a very efficient armor it is, strngthened and shielded by arcane powers at his command.

Though Why is an Antidermis, he assumed the name of Toa to affirm his basically benevolent nature. His tendency to wear bodies made of dead foes' parts can sometimes act as a deterrent. He likes that because he's not very fond of fighting, and he's not prone to, unless attacked first.

Toa Why with Antroz and Krika.

Antroz is my favorite ever Bionicle set. I love the colors, the wings and the mask. Though in the old sets you can never tell if someone is holding a weapon or if he has claws for hands.

If you wiki him, Antroz comes out as an interesting, complex character with an insanely 100k years lifespan. He's supposedly dead, but Bionicle mythology tells us that Antidermis beings don't need bodies after all.

Krika was my second favourite set ever, and the one I revamped more times. I love the head's feral shape, and the marrow-like detail on his claws/wings. I think green eyes suit him better, though.

Krika too is a complex character. Even if his life recount is less impressive than others, his cautious, calculating nature clashes with a generally straightforward universe, making him very interesting.

Krika and Antroz weren't featured together in any series that I know of, but living both on the same planet for about 100k years you'd say they'd have some stories to tell about their hangouts.

BLACKLIGHT!

Yes. Heartlights FTW.

Comments are welcome.

Absolutely love it. I'll be making my official self-MOC soon. I must say, I originally was not a fan of the Hero Factory sets, but seeing the great works people have been posting using HF parts has altered my opinion. Though I do not care for the kits themselves, they do have some neat parts. Anyways, I cannot wait to see more of the amazing creations you've been constructing. |

Incredible! The blacklight was very clever, because I would've never thought Bionicle pieces would glow like that. And the buzz saws for fingers are also interesting. |

Ah if anyone could make it through it im certain you could among others of course. Cant say moving is the funnest thing to do but its better then not doing anything at all… ok mabey not…

Whoa. I'm gonna go ahead and guess that, while he looks simple, he's probably not.Very nice revamps of possibly the two coolest makuta of 2008/2009. Those were good times. And, If you have the time, you could do me a big favor and look at this: http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/346883 |

Wow, this is very impressive! I love the black, grey, and trans-blue color scheme. The revamps are very nice. They have the essence of the original sets, but also looks unique and new. The use of black light to create that glow effect is very cool. Which reminds me...I have a black light. I may just have to use it, once I get around to finishing my first MOC for MOCPages. ;) |

I love how eerie those green eyes made krika in the black light i dont nessecarally have a "favorite" bionicle. The one im working on revamping is Barraki takadox(thats right, the betrayer of the 6 kingdoms) but im also working on a gundam witch will take much longer

Incidentally, you just named another of my favorite sets. And the first where I found those cool neon blue pieces.

Great self-MOC. I'm still slightly surprised that you've made one, but I guess I'm not alone in that respect. Loved those revamps. Antroz is my favorite of the two though. Great work on all three, and I love the black light shots :) |

Cool self moc so will you make a toa team which consist of what, when, where, who and how.
No. I did consider making a group of 4 black Toas, each with a different Neon color, but I'm not that good at custom torsos, so I quit while I was ahead.

Ooh, glowy... Er, I mean nice build, it's very "you" with all the glowing parts, as you're the only person I've ever seen put their MOCs under a blacklight. :)

Why :) did you have to make such a great MOC?
On a more serious note, I absolutely love the buzz-saw hand, along with the effect created by mixing trans light blue with gunmetal. |
|
|
Extraordinary! Why is an original and very well balanced design with an outstanding feature. In my eyes he has a slight touch of steampunk, i like very much. Using three different types of armor on one MOC of this size is just terrific!
Antroz should have looked like that right from the beginning, looks more powerful. Mistika-villain-sets aren't my favourite, but the revamps are great. I knew that the trans-neon parts glow if exposed to blacklight, but i'm surprised that the trans-blue are also glowing.. |

An excellent and carefully-crafted SelfMOC at last, eh? But of course! =) Yuri, the slate-&-blue trans is a tasteful choice. I appreciated your thematic choices in the Build and Backstory, and TOTALLY empathize with your reasons for putting it off so long. *blinks* I suppose I'll have to come up with one someday, too. SEE WHAT YOU'VE DONE!!! (And to boot, NOW I'm going to be set back the expense of a Blacklight (due to your shamelessly Epic Use thereof!)) CONFOUND IT!!! You should NEVER hit a man in his WALLET! BOOOO! =) The MOC's a proportional beauty, with nice greeble accents, and Cheers on the use (if I'm guessing correctly) of the blacklight PLUS some fainter ambient lighting for the latter group shots - the combination is VERY nice. As said: now I hafta go try it myself. *stomps off to E-Bay in a huff*... ;D |

Quoting Yuri Fassio Haha, yeah, it's pretty complex. The Makuta were indeed one of the oldest species in the Matoran Universe- still not as old as the Glatorian and Agori, though (then again, they weren't even in the Matoran Universe in the first place). |

Nice self-MOC, Yuri! By the way, Antroz and Krika did know each other- in fact they were both fighting the Nuva in Karda Nui together (along with five or six other Makuta). After that they all died, too- the antidermis of the Makuta species was contained by suits of armor (because if it dispersed they'd die) but their armor and antidermis was all destroyed by the massive energy surge of Mata Nui's heart reigniting. Antroz was somewhat interesting- the "honorable murderer" type- but personally I like Krika better; he had so much wasted potential as a character. Krika actually didn't agree with Teridax and The Plan; he knew it would destroy them all. He essentially joined the Makuta rebellion undercover, and worked against them in various ways over the years such as saving Miserix and warning Gali. |

Wow, you made a Self-MOC... of all people, I wouldn't expect you to make one. Is this a sign that I may have to make one myself some day? Oh, my... (BTW, prepare for the humungus amount of Self-MOc requests and versions of it that may follow)
Now, speaking of the MOC, this is very nice. Specially with the blacklight (what doesn't look good with it anyway?) I'm impressed at how the shades of black appear so different on camera... |
