Battlestar Galactica
The new (2003) version of Galactica. I tried to make it fit the schematic as much as possible.
About this creation

Elevated a bit to see more of the bottom

A side view, notice the 8 cannons, they all swivel and elevate

A rear view to see the engines better (yes I know the top ones are much larger, but this is how it is in the official schematic)

This is a merged photo because it is soooo long compared to how tall it is, so you will see some glitches in the merge areas, but it is good to look at the windows in the front if you zoom in

Mini fighters. A viper chasing two raiders chasing another viper chasing another raider (I know they are way too big to be scale, but they would be like a piece of rice because the Galactica is a mile long)

A rear view

Notice the modular armor like the real thing

A top view. If you compare it with the schematic it is nearly perfect!

Notice the extensive use of tiles. There are few visible studs

A front view. Again, nearly spot on with the schematic

A bit of an angle to show the tiled landing bay

To see all the way thought landing bay, just like the real thing

Again, open tiled landing bay

A battle

A comparison with the official schematic, remember the side view is a bit weird because it is a merged photo

Quoting Ruud Hoogmoed Great build Chris, always good to see more Battlestar fans. It seems complete massive, no problems with bending by it's own weight? I also tiled my landing bays, hope to finish the project this year. Your armory has the right look, congratulations!
No, it is really sturdy. I used a lot of long blocks on the inside. The only parts that fall off sometimes are the ones on hinges.

Quoting Cisco El Segundo Quijote Very nice! I've gotta try my hand at making the Galactica. Would you mind if I use the same stile of armor as you?
Thank you for your complement. I believe that this is a very good model of the Galactica at a pretty large scale and I'm proud of it. However, I think it is great for people to improve on it. I would feel complemented if you used my ideas to further a better design. I certainly looked at the MOCs on this site when designing my projects. Please put a link up when you are done with it. Originally I considered using Technics to allow the pods to go in and out. It would be cool if you could get that to work.

Quoting colby great job although i did find a better one at www.brickcommander.com look in the space section.
I am well aware of Curtis Black's awesome Pegasus http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/34203 and have even commented to him, but his is digital only and not the Galactica

Looks very accurate, I like the texture and shape of it. Good job. The only thing I dont really like are the cannons, they seem a bit out-of place and isnt really the same scale.

A very nice ship indeed. However, your claim might be a bit of a reach, if you are asking me to make a comparison (hence the four rather than a five), then I have to say that Curtis Black's (http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/34203) Battlestar Pegasus has your Galactica beat hands down. Granted his is still a work in progress, but when it is done... At any rate, yours would deserve a five if not for the comparison. Lee.

While this is not terribly accurate, nevertheless the construction technique is very good and is good to look at. Keep up the good work!

Great work on this Chris. Very true to the source. The modular armor is well done. My only suggestion would be to reshoot the photos with a plain background.
