A Feast Among Friends
About this creation
I got bored and really busted out this MOC tonight. Here are the third and fourth floors of Andoria's main keep - the kitchens and the dining hall/ballroom (once the tables are cleared away). These rooms are only half of their full size as I wanted to build a cutaway MOC and the other half of each room would just be redundant.

It is summer now in Andoria and the first harvest of the year brings a feast for both the royal family and the knights of the Blackhawk.

Here we see King Apollo III in his oaken throne dining and laughing with his two sons Apollo IV and Gavin II.

Queen Lysette has had enough merrymaking and, grabbing a nearby torch, repairs to the upper floors to insure that the handmaidens have gotten the princesses into their beds and haven't allowed the girls to sneak down to the dining hall.

The Blackhawk knights are seated at this table, laughing boisterously and swapping war stories in loud booming voices. It seems that a song has broken out and a few knights have knocked their goblets over in their haste to stand on their chairs and join in the song.

Even the princes take up the chorus. "'Round the Earth the sun doth run! The night hath ended; day's begun!"

"'Cross the skies the moon doth follow, yeilding to the sun tomorrow!!!"

My fountain design. I like to incorporate at least a little bit of water to my builds. I'm pretty proud of this design.

Down in the kitchens, it's a completely different story.

Cooks rush to and fro trying to satiate the hunger of the royal family and the knights above.

The butcher has come for the harvest feast and has brought his livestock with him. Here we see him beheading and cleaning a sheep with one already skinned and gutted at the end of the table.

The poulterer cleans and plucks his chickens.

A kitchen maid chops and dices fruits and vegetables for the feast.

The poulterer's assistant is working hard as well though he becomes easily distracted by the head cook with the funny hat, Chef Legorenzo.

Two whole chickens roast over the oven, the succulent smoke staining the cobbled chimney. "Let us hope the summer wines bring sleep to them soon that we might partake of the feast ourselves."

Quoting Michael Kringe This is definitely one of your masterpieces! There are some very creative details. I love the idea of using battle droids for the chickens! :)
Thanks! It's actually my favorite MOC I've built yet. It's even hard for me to believe, looking back, that I built this whole MOC in one night but I was really into it and in kind of a building frenzy as I saw it coming together.

Thanks. It feels good getting back to minifig scale. I feel like I can add a lot more detail that wouldn't be seen in my micro mocs.

Amazing kitchens. Almost like the tour of Hampton Court. :-)
