Probably the most visited and most photographed bridge in Venice,
(Ponte di Rialto) opened in 1591.Connecting the districts of San Polo and San Marco across the Grand Canal in the heart of the city, the Rialto Bridge has always been a busy crossing over the canal. The bridge is formed by two inclined ramps covered by a portico with shops on either side. This area has long been a market place for Venetians and Tourists.
Thank you everyone, for your 'likes' and comments.
I think most AFOL's ( & TFOL's ) see the real world with Lego eyes. :-) I know I do. :-) I've been to Venice may years ago, but was doing a jigsaw puzzle last year and decided to build the scene.
I consulted many photographs to get it as close to the real thing, including the little shops in between the bridge, the cafes and buildings around it.
As for posting good pictures of MOC's, I seem to have a difficult time doing that.
I wanted to bring out the little details, but not repeat myself.
Thank you all again.
Excellent job! I never been there (for now), but I know the bridge from pictures, and it is very alike; I also looks very playable, and that is a real advantage, and it adds to the whole result in my idea.
Stellar work. The bridge is the highlight of the entire MOC, and probably my favorite part. But, the buildings themselves are handled beautifully. Wonderful color choices throughout the MOC, as well - just a terrific creation from every angle!
Beautiful, I've seen the bridge for real when I visited VenetiŽ, it looks just like the real thing, except it's missing the graffiti :P
Ever since I saw the amazing Island I've been wanting to make it with the brick. Great job
