The Seiryu is a next-generation close quarters combat AF. A successor to the Tai Lung, it is designed to engage ideally in close-to-medium range.
About this creation
The Tai-Lung is designed to feature high performance in space, as it is predominantly a space-type AF. It can be reconfigured for use in an atmosphere, though this typically means discarding its primary arm-mounted weapons.
The primary features of the Tai-Lung are its twin arm-mounted 'Jian Long' pneumatic pincers, which are designed to function as grappling weapons in both extended and retracted positions.
To cover a wider variety of threats, each Jian Long weapon contains a mid-power beam launcher. Combat data recovered from the Tai Lung suggested that it was more efficient to grant a CQC AF long-range weaponry than to force the pilot to discard favorable cover or terrain in order to close on an enemy unit.
