A letter by Niles Morris written 27 October 2012 "Dear Amy,
I cannot believe it has been 6 months since we last spoke, but things have been hectic at work.
The last few days I've not been able to stop thinking about you, and I just needed to let you know.
It is most likely because, three days ago I almost died. I was there when that attack happened at the water treatment works outside of town. I was stuck in my car when that giant worm beamed in.
Don't worry I got away.
I saw on the news last night that there had been another attack near you. Since you don't have a phone, and my internet is out, this is my only way to let me know that, I hope you are safe.
It was that cyclops thing from a few months back again. This time the CyberAgents used that bird thing to help them fight it. If you'd seen it you know what I mean, it breaks up and the wings attach to the CyberAgent and the bird's head and body become like a sword thing. If I were a 12 year old kid I'd have thought that was really cool. Scratch that, I think it was cool.
The police came round asking questions. I didn't tell them about Paris...
I'll be in Crowne in a couple of weeks. If you're there, please meet me.
I love you,
Niles."
The more observant out there will have noticed that I'm also including some prose with these creations. A short story written as diary entries. The "Parts" need to be read in order to make sense. Here is what I've written so far...
SIZE COMPARISON SHOTS. WITH CyberAgent DarkAngel (2008) WITH CyberAgent DarkAngel (2008) and Minifig.
As you can see from the size comparison pictures, these latest designs are significantly different in how they feel and how they are structured. I'm still using the OAWI inspired joint system (favoured by the likes of TKH and Izzo), but I've taken the scale down a notch. Originally (mostly due to limitations of using the purchasable pieces in LDD2.0) I was limited as to which parts and colours I could include. I also didn't feel there was a need for an "ab crunch" something that has crept into most of the more recent CyberAgent designs.
Dressing the designs now is less about uniformity, and more about suggesting machinery. Though I do like to have visual queues from previous designs (such as the back pack).
Elements of the new design are actually taken from several previous designs, for which credit should go to Forte noir, since the forearm and shin design is largely based on his Corsair.
The head design is also not entirely original, having taken inspiration from Pick's transformer "Prototype". The weapons too took inspiration from him.
The wing design is a recycled version of the one I used previously on my "new" knight frame for the Medieval Universe series.
And finally a thank you to Haim Saban, as his series "Power Rangers" inspired the original CyberAgent back story.
