The Varanus is a new-generation space-type AF designed in tandem with the GSM-AR05 Corsaire.

About this creation

The Varanus is a descendant of the GSM-01AF Stratus, having originally been designed to serve as a second generation aerial suppression AF. Over time, a split occurred within R&D that led to the development of the Varanus and its sister AF, the Corsaire

Articulated thrust binders are mounted on the shoulders of the Varanus to keep their connections as close to the center of mass as possible.

Aside from its new high-end 'Callidus' beam rifle, the Varanus sports forearm locks for its beam sabers. The sabers can be served to the hands for enhanced control.

The first command variants of the Varanus have been rolled out in custom colors; hard modifications to the AF's performance and loadout for command versions will come after sufficient combat data has been gathered, though this may not be for several years.

If you have builders block I'd love to give you some ideas. Most of your AFs are very sleek and compact. Try going big, bulky and armed to the teeth in an extreme way, as wide and as monstrous as your frame can handle. I'd also like to see maybe an aquatic transforming AF. I've always wanted to see something like that from you.

I dunno. I've built some new stuff since my last batch update, but I'm experiencing some extreme builder's block and I can't think of any new ideas. I would typically just try to one-up my older designs in some way as new pieces were released and new assembly ideas revealed themselves to me, but I feel as if I'm at a strange plateau right now.

I'm a huge fan of your work and have a folder full of your MOCs, admittedly the first MOC I ever saw from you I instantly downloaded and stripped to the frame. I've made some modifications to it since then to the point were i have more then a dozen frame models and have been using your design to make countless of my own variants and would like to know if you wouldn't mind me uploading them to my page?

You don't need my permission to post MOCs. Just credit me if your designs veer more towards my kits than yours (this is a subtle way of saying 'don't just mimic my designs, inject a little of yourself into them and surpass my ideas').
